Shane Battier worked my brother's basketball camp during the lockout and I remember someone asking him who was tougher to guard at that time between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James (he was a free agent, would later sign with the Heat). He thought about for a moment briefly then said James.

That said, there could be a difference between "tougher to guard" and "greatest player I ever played against". Also, that was years ago, so things could have changed. Or maybe he just goes back and forth.
