Agree. And I'm not sure it's particularly close.
They DID have the advantage of growing up all of their lives with the 3 point line, though.

Yeah, im sure that's a huge part of it. They hit threes like layups some days.

Agree the thing is how will they be remembered championships or none.

They are not, now if they had Korver instead of Klay then we could talk.

I meant collectively. Korver can be argued over either two.

Isiah and Dumars
Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond
There are some other great ones if I think hard enough. But yea, they have a very strong argument for that crown. Can't think of another back court with two guys who both had 50+ point games off almost exclusively jump shots.

Let's wait until they beat a real team in the playoffs. Beating a Ty Lawson-led Gallinari-less star less team doesn't impress me.

I said best shooting, not best players.

Do you apply the same logic to Harden with the Rockets? What happened in the playoffs with him?

Without question. Efficiency-wise you can probably find backcouts that compare, but no backcourt in history can match what Steph and Klay can do in terms of efficiency and volume. And Steph especially..some of the shots he takes are just ridiculous, last year pre-Kerr/Gentry moreso than this year, but it's insane how he's able to maintain his efficiency considering his style of play. When he's hot it's like watching 2K with the sliders all up.
The scariest part is that they both have years to improve. They might not just end up as the GOAT shooting backcourt, but one of the best backcourts of all time, period.

Losing to GodLillard is more impressive than beating the higher seeded Denver and challenging the Spurs. Fact.

I'm confused, Harden has played in the finals and beasted in the conference finals. Can we say the same for Curry/Thompson or is beating the Lawson led Nuggets the best we can do?

Yes, Harden "beasted" as the 3rd option in one series then choked in the other 2. Then as a 1st option he was garbage and a 1st round exit twice. Very impressive. :oldlol:
Curry as the 1st option has accomplished more than Harden AND performed better in the playoffs.

Even so, for arguments sake, let's ignore reality and pretend Harden never made the finals.
Conference finals > 2nd round
Period.
Durant and Westbrook are Conference Finals bound every year.

Probably, but again. Beating the 2013 Nuggets is hardly impressive and both teams bounced in the 1st round last year. Harden has gone further and done more damage in the playoffs.

Harden is a monster right now, trolling aside.
But you can't seriously give Harden that much credit for 2012. Dude was playing 3rd option behind two of the most dynamic offensive weapons in the league. One killer series as a 3rd option isn't some massive accomplishment, especially when he follows it up with a complete disappearing act.
Harden has every bit as much to prove as a #1 option as Steph does, if not even more considering his past 2 postseason runs.

What damage? You mean getting carried by Durant/Westbrook? Guess Norris Cole has done more damage than Curry too. :oldlol:

Fair enough. I can agree with your last paragraph. Anyway, enough of Harden. This thread is about Curry and Thompson. Yeah they're having a great year but let's not forget they were eliminated in the 1st round last year so they need to get out of the first round this year if they want to be taken seriously.

They woulda beaten Clippers if refs didn't **** them. Just wait for the playoffs this year, with Kerr and everyone improving they will be unstoppable.

Yup. No excuses for them. Whether they get a playoff ready OKC team in the 1st round or not.

As shooters, they're not as good as Curry/Thompson.

I wonder what they would do if the NBA is played with the college line. The team would probably be jacking up 50 shots and making 30+ of them lol...

I've never made a thread like this even after Lillard's greatest performances. After he carried Portland in SA dropping 40. After he ended Houston's season. No I didn't think he was the GOAT or up there with Jordan and Stockton because he did something they did.
Curry and Thompson GOAT back court wtf are you thinking? Really? Are you 6 years old?

GOAT shooting backcourt.
Oh shooting how about their coach then. Steve Kerr was a damn good shooter, and I think he played with this other guy on the bulls that was good. There is a better shooting back court.
If we just want to pick one skill.

Curry and Klay would rape any other back court in any kind of shooting contest. And it's not that they are accurate. They both have the fastest releases I've seen and can pull up off the dribble on a dime and drop one right in your grill.

The closest competition is probably lillard and matthews(though lillard is in a huge slump right now) but yeah they take this,
