I'm Canadian - but i understand why they do this. It's more natural to read: 02/01/15 as "February 1st 2015".

i was born in nyc but did my schooling in melbourne and this always bothered me when i was in college back in US. took me months to adjust. there is no logic to this.

Yeah, but in French we say "5 F
