He is a solid designer, started as a Ferrari suspension designer, then moved on to produce pretty good cars for Jaguar and Mclaren. He is a good hire for a rookie team. The team also bought quitting team Marussia's base and when I say their base I mean everything including the staff's latptops :lol
So while the team's main base remains in North Carolina, they prepare cars for the European races from the recently purchased base in England.
Former Red Bull chief designer Rob Taylor will oversee the design of Haas F1's 2016 challenger.
Haas is due to join the grid in 2016 and last year announced Dallara would oversee the construction of its maiden F1 car, though Autosport reports Taylor has been appointed chief designer to oversee the project. Taylor designed Red Bull's first F1 car after it brought Jaguar, before he moved on to McLaren.
Car liveries are currently a hot topic following the car launches and Red Bull's striking RB11 test colours. Haas will have a tie-up with Ferrari but team owner and NASCAR boss Gene Haas says he is already leaning towards a yellow car for 2016.
"We would like to have something with a corporate image, but on the other hand you want a car that you can see," he said. "After a while all these silver or grey cars become kind of the same. Everybody's gone with all these rainbow colours and a solid colour would be something easily definable. You'd like to be seen. I like yellow; personally, I think a solid yellow would be nice."
