He's an expiring, so it's not really about whether you want him or not, it's about you taking him in a deal to balance out contracts and make a deal work for another player you want, like Jackson.

Don't Hill & Linn make over $17MM combined? I don't think this works even adding Perk.

Can OKC afford Hill's and Lin's salary?
I think Perkins and Hill's salary are the same, but Lin's contract is like 8-9 million too.

As others have said, salaries do not match closely enough.
However, if we substitute Morrow for Smith, then the trade works in ESPN TM.

Westbrook/Lin
Roberson/Morrow/Lamb/Ellington
Durant/Roberson/PJ3
Ibaka/Collison
Adams/Hill
Who the f*** in in LA's depth chart other than Jackson/Smith/Perkins? :lol

This trade is basically Jackson for Hill, Lakers won't do it because Jackson would sign somewhere else for more money once the season's over while losing Hill. Even though they get a ****ton of capspace Lakers would be forced to bank on Free Agency, which hasn't been too kind as of late.

Lakers need Perkins if they want to reach that next level of tanking

If OKC is finally ditching Perkins it's a positive imo. Watching him play is painful.

Oh, it's funny at times but at the same time it's pathetic.
I watch OKC as much as I can for Westbrook, every game I've watched has seen Westbrook hook Perkins up with a nice pass several times only to have Perkins blow an easy bucket. After watching that crap I can't blame Westbrook for chucking.

I don't want Perkins in a Laker uniform even if it's only for half season.
Lakers should stay put right now and keep the cap to sign someone in July.
