All the talks about is Spurs. :lol

With every win Tim Duncan inches a little higher than him in the all time rankings.
You think Kobe worries about that? honestly

You think Kobe worries about that? honestly

After 2010 he said a bunch of times that he has 'one more than Tim'.

Before this season started he said the prospect of Tim winning 6 doesn't sit well with him.

So what, it's just friendly competion, y'all stans take this shit more seriously than the players. :facepalm

They're are two of the best of all time, the two best since Jordan. Countless playoff battles, but it ain't like it's hatred, just friendly competition man.

I never commented on his motives behind the words.

The 'I've got more rings than you' Kobe was definitely being playful.

He was being deadly serious with 6. iirc his words were 'I'm not alright with that'.

This. I'm sure he has Timmy's game logs bookmarked.

I think Kobe is intensely aware of all the rings/accomplishments of TD. Remember - the first thing he said after winning his 5th - one more than Shaq.

so 2008 was the only time Kobe was the focal point of Spurs' D? And stans trying to make it out like Kobe has owned Spurs his whole career, but truth to be told, Kobe was always just a 2nd fiddle for opponents' D lmao

It's so sad that Kobe really has no good memorable playoff moment as the MAN of the team. 6/24, blew 20 pt lead at home during final, gave up after first half of game 7, and lost double digit points in many elimination games that's all Kobe will be remembered as the man of the team

During Kobe's career the Spurs and Lakers have been the best teams in the West. Actually the league really. Being a manic competitor it shouldnt be a surprise that he pays attention to what they are doing.

Back in old days Magic and Bird were constantly monitoring each others progress over the season.

Nothing to see here.

1999 - Spurs win Finals
2000 - Lakers win Finals
2001 - Lakers win Finals
2002 - Lakers win Finals
2003 - Spurs win Finals
2004 - Lakers lose Finals
2005 - Spurs win Finals

For 7 straight seasons, either the Spurs or the Lakers came out of the West. Of course Kobe is obsessed with them, they were his biggest opponent for years.

Kobe loves to backhand compliment Duncan, as if all of Duncan's accomplishments were a product of the Spurs organization.

Duncan's first 3 championships > Kobe's first 3 rings

Duncan's first 3 championships (3 Finals MVP, 2 MVPs) > Kobe's 2008-2010 run (2 rings, 2 Finals MVP, MVP)

4th ring as a #1 option in 2007 as well. Parker getting F-MVP doesn't change the fact Duncan was the best player.

Anyway you slice it, Duncan > Kobe
