I just recently became a "gallon" blood donor. Meaning I've donated over a gallon of my blood. I'm currently at 9 pints donated. Anyone here donate blood regularly?

Besides saving lives, there are other benefits to donating:

Is there a rewards program? Do I get $100 for signing up?

I use to donate every time I was allowed when the donor truck was on campus.

I did it for the free apple juice and pop tarts

For us they used to hand out limited edition double stuffed oreos

If it ain't limited edition McFlurry it ain't worth my time.

Here you can two addition paid leave days + there is shortage of blood banks and some people would pay about ~20-40$ to donate for their relative.

Every week I take an empty paint bucket out of my garage and cut my left wrist and let about 1 or 2 liters out into the bucket and with a smile on my face drive it to the hospital and drop it off. It genuinely feels good knowing how many lives I'm saving.

Damn dude. Donating marrow is another level, don't they knock you out for it? It's supposed to be excruciatingly painful if you aren't under anesthesia.

We do it once a year at work.

And when my mother was diagnosed with Leukemia I went into the national marrow library and have donated that once too.

Don't you guys get paid for it? We do it for free here. I'm A+, donated about 30 times but not since I had mononucelosis in university.

Some drives give out a $10 gift card or some other incentive. I got a coupon for a free pound of Dunkin' Donut's coffee ($10 value) for a drive last year. I try to pick the drives that are giving away something.

I was born in England, so I can't give blood in Australia. Might be carrying mad cow disease lel
