I know usually anything with carbs are usually a good pre-workout meal. Particularly pasta. If I'm in a hurry I'll down a peanut butter/jelly sandwich with whole grain wheat and a cup of 2% milk.

Post-workout, I like to make it a little more heavy in protein for recovery and muscle building. So in conjunction with a post workout shake, I'll make some chicken or tuna in a sandwich.

Dont mean to hijack the thread...but I've heard to have a protein shake before, then I have also heard other people say to have one after. When is the best time to have a protein shake?

Ideally you don't want to take protein before a workout. The premise of a workout is to rip and tear muscle. It's like renovating the exterior of a house but putting up a brick wall before tearing it down. Protein is for repair my friend, carbs is for Fuel which is a better source for energy preworkout

I love me some raspberries. But generally anything high glycemic to instantly boost energy

Between reps of heavy squats.

Ideally you want unrack the barbell, chug a protein shake, squat down and back up, then chug another protein shake. That makes one rep. Do this for 5 sets of 5, for a total of 25 protein shakes.
