Fine, here you go, SugarHill:

1. The Sopranos: Won 5 Golden Globes (23 nominations) and 21 Emmys (111 nominations).

2. Breaking Bad: Won 2 Golden Globes (7 nominations) and 16 Emmys (49 nominations).

...

7. The Wire: Won 0 Golden Globes (0 nominations) and 0 Emmys (2 nominations).

This...so much this

Aziz Ansari and Nick Offerman are "kind of funny" and that is it...no one else on the show is funny

Amy Poehler really isn't funny at all, and Rob Lowe is so unfunny it makes me cringe

people act like that show is the funniest shit ever but it really isn't at all...

another overrated and horribly unfunny show: Modern Family

Fine, here you go, SugarHill:
You don't need to win an emmy to have critical acclaim. That would be like saying Nas isn't critically acclaimed because he never won a grammy. Wire has a ton of critical praise. Why are you acting like it's only loved by viewers? It wasn't even that popular when it aired. It got a spike in popularly after its completion and even then, it was never THAT popular, at least on the level of Sopranos or Breaking Bad. :coleman:

The League is pretty overrated. Always hear good things about it but most of the characters piss me off. Ruxin is OK, Raffi is pretty funny. But Pete is an annoying ******, Kevin is worthless, and both Kevin's wife and Andre should just kill themselves honestly.

Some shows that I actually like, but tend to get overrated..Wilfred, Mad Men, Community.

New Girl. Was forced to watch that garbage with a friend, had to watch 3 seasons of Zooey Deschanel's quirky bullshit and Jake Johnson's rusty voice and "is he good looking or not?" gimmick. Just recently found out it was nominated for 5 Emmys? :oldlol:

Game of Thrones is trash.

The Sopranos because It was only good for 4 & 2/3 seasons. Season six, which being 21 episodes long is just under a quarter of the series was god fvcking awful and season 5 was patchy at best. It also wasn't as ground-breaking as people claim it kind of walked through a door already opened by Oz, Profit and Millenium. That being said, seasons 1-4 were awesome.

Breaking Bad, because it often gets called the greatest show ever, which it isn't. It was entreating as fvck, but after the first season it got pretty ridiculous.

The first couple of season of the league were really good, after that though it just got worse and worse to the point that it's cringe worthy these days. Whenever they do episodes based around Raffi and the other guy they are unbearably bad

friends is dumb, every character pisses me off

if it werent for that blonde chicks titties, big bang theory would be unwatchable

It gets better, I expected to hate orange is the new black and thought the first episode was meh but it grew on me and now I quite like it. I agree on all other points though but big bang is still unwatchable for me even if it has a hot chick.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there.

6a is awful compared to other Sopranos seasons (though 6b is great), but it's still top-tier TV.

Season 5, however, is probably the best Sopranos season (in my opinion). Seasons 1 and 3 were heavy on plot development and seasons 2 and 4 were heavy on character. Season 5 is like the perfect blend of those two.

Also, the innovations were more in making TV a serious medium. Even the creator, David Chase, said the whole 'violence and mob stuff' was insignificant . It was a show about America as a whole and a bunch of other things. :confusedshrug:

The Walking Dead was okay for a couple seasons but its by far the most overrated show ever. Most of it is repetitive trash.

Breaking Bad was a great show but it was super over rated at the same time.

Let me tell you somethings about Parks and Recreation:

The secondary characters (except Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones, God I hate those 2) are ****ing hilarious, even the ones that don't show up that much like Orin and Councilman Jamm.

Amy Poehler character at first, was cringe worthy and funny, like a Michael Scott, but from season 3 onwards she became annoying and not at all funny. That's why your lead in a comedy can't be a woman.

Anyone that thinks Parks and Rec is close to the Office is a lunatic. Still a good show, not great.

Among shows that are considered elite, Breaking Bad is the most overrated. I watched it since its premiere and enjoyed watching all seasons. However it must be stated that after the first season they didn't come up with original ideas and produced the same thing over and over.

This is the problem with Parks and Rec, the secondary characters are funny. They're good comedic actors, the writing is TERRIBLE. The jokes are awful. There was one good season (Season 2) and everything else has been ass. I don't know why I keep watching because it's horrible. It has nothing to do with the lead being a woman, it's just a poorly written show. The jokes anyway, plot-wise it's not bad.

Breaking Bad is easily the GOAT TV Show, its recognized as such, and will go down as such....

The Wire has already been mentioned.

OITNB also gets alot of its praise for the fact that the main cast is female, and to construct such show with largely women, gets them bonus points.

I'm guessing The Walking Dead would be appropriate here..

The problem is you can't rate a show by 1 season because consistency matters (example: Dexter). Mad Men drops. BB was smart to end early and go out on top.

They had budget issues after season one and had to fire writers. apparently someone said it was so bad that they actually had only a set amount of scenes they could film outdoors which is why some episodes have a bunch of indoor shots and why most season have them just hanging around the same set all series because they don't have the budget to make multiple sets or shoot on location.

Mad Men dropping? Right....

BB was very good, very consistent, but season 3 wasn't anything special apart from a few episodes, the first half of 4 wasn't that great either. From the middle of Season 4 onwards it hits an All Time Great peak though.

I would take Mad Men, The Sopranos and GOT over Breaking Bad. Those all have multiple interesting characters and storylines, BB has a great character in Walt, two very good ones in Gus and Mike who only appear on half of the entire show, and then you are left with Jesse and Skylar.....

Yeah, no.

mad mens was awesome for it's first few season then it just went off a cliff and go flat out bad and started repeating story lines or just meandering a long with nothing happening story or character wise for multiple episodes. It's picked up a bit in it's current season though
