Xbox one user here looking to change his console and have a few questions.

1. Has the online on PS4 been good so far? Low lag, good latency, etc.
2. Can you play music on the console while playing games? I ask cause XB1 can't do this.

Overall, how satisfied are you with your purchase? Just asking cause most of my friends are xbox guys and I've heard a variety of complaints from them about their console, and I myself have a few about the xbox one. Yet it doesn't seem like most ps4 users have any complaints.

1. Pretty awesome console. Lag and all that stuff has been fine for me and I have an OK internet connection.

2. I have no idea but I'm sure, the have a music library app.

3. Nothing is really free on PS4. Even if you want to play throwback games from PS3 you have to rent them for a price. :oldlol:. They do have weekly discount deals and stuff, which is nice.

Nice. This sounds so much better than XB1. You can rent PS3 games for a price and play them? Thats badass. I'm also sure the music library app works while you play games as well...

One thing that pisses me off about xbox one is how they almost never change the prices of their digital downloads... I am someone who is a fan of the idea of getting a massive HD and digital downloading all of my games... just seems to be more convenient... however when you can buy a disc of a game new on amazon for 40 bucks and it remains 60 to buy digitally it's just not something I want to do over and over again...

Looks like I'm gonna join the PS4 party.

Just based on PS Plus, I would pick PS4 as my main console.
The lag was ****ing anjoying in the beggining on PES 2015 for example, but those problems are gone I hope. Cant tell for other games since the only games I play on it are PES and Last of Us.

And yes, since the update 2.0 you are able to play the music in the same time with playing the game.

1. Online play is fine. Downloading stuff is slow as hell.

2. Yes you can. There is the music subscription service you can use, or you just plug in a USB stick with your own mp3s. It doesn't work like the old Xbox360 style though, where it automatically disables the in-game music. It just all plays at the same time, you have to disable in-game music manually.

3. The "free" PS plus games are decent. Usually about one top tier indie game a month and one throwaway game. Better selection and they generally don't repeat the same games like they do on the Xbone.

Isn't that based on your internet?

If the PS4 had a good Wifi adapter with good firmware, it would be. But as it stands my PS4 downloads stuff at about 1/5th the rate of my notebook/pc/phone. Not everyone has the same problems but it's a common issue.

I have both an xbox one and a ps4.

1. The downloads are much slower than my xbox one and pc but are much quicker than my wii u's (seriously nintendos download servers take longer to download 1GB than my xbox one takes to download 20GB). Might even out a little though if you use disc based games as the xbox is slower to install content off the discs.

2. I've never played music, I know you can but I thought you had to pay for an app on ps4?

In regards to how satisfied I am the console is pretty good but I prefer my xbox. The biggest negatives I have on the ps4 are that it can get quite loud and the thumb sticks are made from the stupidest material ever (of the 4 people I know with ps4s all of our thumbsticks are wearing through, mine after only a couple months). Other than that it all comes down to the games you prefer. Right now there isn't enough games to justify a PS4 imo which is why mines unplugged so I can use my 360 again (that'll change since don bradman cricket comes out on xbox one/ps4 today) because there's just nothing else to play on the ps4 for me. This year looks to have a good line up but you never know what games will flop, my plan was to get a ps4 at the end of 2015 but I got one earlier because I had a bunch of vouchers I needed to use.

If you already have an xbox one I don't see any point switching over unless you are really in to the order or bloodborne (and even still I'd wait for the reviews). They are close enough to each other that it's much of the same besides exclusives. Also the xbox does offer discounted digital games, I don't buy digital but I've been sent a bunch of discount sales and the like through xbox gold the only difference i see with the ps4 is that sony have more indie games and offers those at a cheaper price but I already get those on steam sales.

damn, that would be boss as **** if it worked like the 360 did where it disabled in game music and replaced it with your own music library.

thats cool though, it will work.

I also love that the PS4 has a stronger indie game community because they work more with game developers and shit. I remember some dumb little indie fighting game I played all the time on PS3 that was so fun.

Well if you're into indie games a lot, if you have PS+ they have free indie games all the time.

I usually buy my PS+ for an entire year, which is only $50.00
