Aldo vs. a semi-pro big guy in a MMA fight

Pacquiao vs a semi-pro big guy in a boxing match

Both Aldo/Pacquiao are about 5'7" 145lbs

(6'5" was arbitrarily chosen, maybe it's a 6'9" dude, maybe 6'7", etc... doesn't really matter as long as hypothetically a big, in- shape, trained dude)

Semi-Pro heavyweight all day. In boxing I can see maybe a smaller fighter winning on points if he's really elite defensively. In MMA it's not even a question.

So you're saying no chance at all?

Royce Gracie is only 6'1" would he get wrecked by a 6'10" semi-pro in good shape too?

If they have a lot of experience in the ring, the big guy should prevail with his size advantage and experience, even if he isn't a professional in his weight class. Now if the 6'5" dude had no fighting experience, it would even the odds tremendously.

Not quite as extreme, but look at what 155lb 5'8 Roger Huerta does to a 6'0 240lb Texas Longhorn linebacker. He destroys the guy without breaking a sweat.

The semi pro figher will have better chance against Aldo in an MMA match than Pac in Boxing. The semi pro guy who will obviously outweight Aldo can pin him down on the ground and stall against the cage for a decision. In a Boxing match Pacquaio will use his speed and superior angles to light up the semi pro guy, he won't pin Pac against the ropes and he isn't gonna be allowed to hold Pac for too long as it will be broken by the ref immediately. Pac will win this easily.

Watch the pros vs joe fight of Sweetpea against a big semi pro for reference. Sweetpea lit him up the whole fight, the semi pro had no chance at all and this is an old retired Phernell Whitaker.
