Barkley will take a shot at the Knicks whenever the chance comes up. Fck him, he won 0 rings as well as the Knicks in the 90s yet all of a sudden he is some genius on winning. Fck that fatass. I will never watch a game (with sound on) if he is broadcasting. I don't watch halftime shows even if they are entertaining.
JR's struggles had everything to do with distractions. This guy was partying during the playoffs while he was shooting 25%. I'm sure it's easier for him to be a 4th option than a 2nd option, as he is too immature to handle any real responsibilities of pressure.

almost correct. Jr smith's greatest problem wasn't that we used him as a second option (a problem nonetheless) but that we ISOd him alot and put the ball in his hands to "make something" instead of letting him to just shoot it (he is an excellent sport up shooter imo). That's why he is doing so good with the cavs, because they use him for his strengths (shooting, energy) not for his weaknesses (isoing, ball handling, decision making).
Barkley is dumbass, nothing new here. :facepalm

So Does Barkley realize Jr was the biggest idiot in ny or is he just talking out of his ass again because of his hate of the knicks? Cavs fans are in for a big surprise, Jr disappears when needed most. Only a matter of time before he pulls a 2013 playoffs vs pacers.

imo you should watch more jr smith, like his time with the nuggets. in the right position (spot up shooter, 4th option) he is ok. As an iso 2nd option as he was used in NY ... any nyk fan knows the story.

He also cost the Suns a chance at game 7 making a retarded defensive play on the game winning Paxson 3.
I don't give a shit about Melo, he's one of the guys that Barkley always seems to defend and talk up while bashing everything else having to do with the Knicks. It's no surprise he will hype up someone that leaves the Knicks and does better in a new role, because it gives him another chance to shit on the Knicks.
Barkley is a pathetic announcer and I have not listened to any game he's done since last year.
Is Barkley another guy you stan for? You literally stan for about 50 players, and half the teams in the NBA are 'your teams'.

That is the biggest difference from what I've seen. Distractions in NYC weren't a problem a few years ago when he was winning the 6th Man of the Year award. He didn't just suddenly forget how to play or do anything drastically different off the court in the last two years that he hadn't been doing in the previous five years, be it in Denver or New York.
The biggest difference was more was being asked of him with the Knicks. He was essentially a secondary scoring option. He has the talent and ability to be that kind of guy, but not the mentality. He's way too inconsistent and that seemed to lead to him being a headcase. He's not the kind of guy you want to have to lean on every night.
With the Cavs, there is no pressure. If his shot isn't falling, we can put Shump, Delly, Marion or Miller on the floor and those guys bring a different kind of skillset. JR can have his off nights and the team will be fine. As a result, he is having less of those and is more comfortable.
He's the kind of guy who can be an excellent 4th or 5th option, but makes a terrible 2nd or 3rd option. I'm sort of surprised people didn't seem to see his improved play coming. This is the role he has always thrived in and it's not like he is old or injury-riddled. He should still be in his athletic prime.
The difference is he's only been in Cleveland a month. He hasn't had time to do something that people will nitpick on. Give it time.

JR Smith is to blame for all of JR Smith's troubles.
People have short memories.

This is JR Smiths MO. He always performs well on new squads and then he wears his welcome out and teams cant wait to get rid of him. Nothing has changed for him. He goes from playing on the worst team to with Lebron. No doubt he has been re energized. But this is exactly how he has been his entire career, playing for the Cavs wont change that. He is a immature and selfish player who will cause problems if around a team long enough.

I don't care what he does... as long as he keeps showing up and playing well, that's all I care about. Smith has proven he can be a very productive player in this league... hell, he proved it with the Knicks before the wheels fell off for that team and he was asked to carry more of the load.

Charles Barkley needs to rein in his name calling. He is supposed to be a professional analyst.
What exactly is he even talking about here?
He has shown his true colors in the last week, and not for the first time either. He has gone below Skip Bayless, and I don't say that lightly.

Smith, who struggled with the triangle offense brought in by Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher, is averaging 13.1 points and 32 minutes in 18 games in Cleveland. He averaged nearly 11 points in 25 minutes a game for the Knicks while mostly coming off the bench in 24 games.
I would thought that getting away from the idiots and netting more 7 minutes per game would result in more that just 2 points per game.
Wasn't with the idiots that he had his best season getting the sixth man award?
I'm confused.

When we signed him, he was a filler playing over in China. He never should have become the #2 option, IMO.
Man, who listens to Chuck, unless you want a laugh.
