Sinister is up there for me. Watched it last night, and had to sleep between mum and dad after the movie ended.
Shit was disturbing AND frightening. Not just corny pop up scenes with loud sound effects.

I was terrified after watching the Ring. I went with a group and it got so bad the whole theater was hysterically laughing due to everyone shitting their pants :oldlol: I thought the Blair Witch Project was a little scary, my cousin thought it was the scariest thing ever, I thought it was overrated. Good times.

Not the scariest movie, but definitely the creepiest. Lots of "what the fvck is happening right now" moments:

Nothing has creeped me out more than watching some of those ghost youtube videos late at night. Most have been admitted as fakes by now, but at the time you're not sure and they are pretty convincing. You can't help but wonder if this one video you're watching is real and genuine.
Otherwise, the grudge creeped me out more than any other movie when I was a teen. I watched it again on Netflix last month and was bored, it sucked.

What about the actual movie (Sinister) ?
Is it good? From just reading the Imdb description, sounds pretty damn sweet..

I dunno what it's called but back in the day I used to stay up, when I was like 8 or 9, and try to catch nudity on movie channels. Well, I saw this one freaky ass movie. Shit is always freakier when you think you are gonna see some tits, too. It goes in a different pathway.
It was about some priest guy and that's mainly what I remember. The exorcist was pretty scary to a young me, too.
Lastly, I found the abominable dr phibes pretty disturbing, but I was super high.

After watching The Woman in Black, and thinking it wasn't shit, i found out there was a 1983 version.
I downloaded it, got really unsettled for the first 45 minutes or so, and thought that it was just going to be about a really creepy atmosphere.
Then the scariest scene i have ever seen in my life came on, and i ****ing screamed. Literally, at my full capacity, screamed.
Never seeing that shit again. Not even with friends.
Not recommending it either, since most people will find the first half of the movie really boring.

The scariest movie experience I've ever had was watching Gravity while tripping.
Sinister was good, but it wasn't keep me up at night terrifying, imo. Definitely one of the best scary movies to come out in theaters in recent times though.

No, that isn't the scene. It's a little after the mid point of the movie.
And you can't just watch it out of nowhere. That movie has a great, unsettling atmosphere. It makes your nerves be on point, has you really sensitivized to any little weird thing or sound....
Then it lulls you, and you think the day is over.
Then the dread comes.
Fvck that movie.

I was 6 when i saw it for the first time, that night i slept in my sisters room... where she had a huge collection of dolls up there on the shelves... while trying to sleep it felt like they were staring at me and everytime i turned around and looked at them they would turn their heads away...
grudgeI watched the Japanese version with the subtitles while staying in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur by myself
unsettling night
something about scary movies with subtitles.. you get so focused on the movie that you're completely zoned in

Not the scariest, but House of 1,000 corpses is legit one of the weirdest/creepiest movies I've seen.

As a kid the Original Evil Dead messed me the hell up, legit couldn't get a good nights rest for like a week. Now as an adult? None really, most horror movies these days are pretty meh. But me and my friends did enjoy Insidious 1&2 though, might go see the 3rd installment when it comes out.

As a little kid, the Exorcist scared the hell out of me, I swear I felt my bed shake at night after I saw that movie, lol. I was older when I watched It and it creeped me out and only reinforced my dislike of clowns. There is a movie by a young Anthony Hopkins where he's a ventriloquist and the puppet starts talking on his own, I haven't seen it for the longest time and I think he was going mad and imagining the puppet talking but that's a good scary movie too, I think it's called Magic IIRC.
My five year old is afraid of Chucky, he has an 11 year cousin that used to tell him him that Chucky was gonna visit him and my boy would have a horrified look to his face but I told my nephew to cut the BS out, it ain't right scarying a liitle kid like that

As a kid, I'd say around 7 or so my mother allowed me to watch the Exorcist.
Now mind you by today's standards the movie is fairly tame. At the time though this movie rocked my little world down to my bones. I was already into horror and liked several but I had never seen anything so psychologically scary for me like the Exorcist. That one had me sleeping in moms bed for about a week.
Recently? Australian horror flick called The Babadook. Very good film. Another that gets into your head.

That scene in Grudge where they peak up into the attic and then see that face freaked me out when it was in theaters, that one sticks out for me mainly due to my age at the time and seeing it in theatre
I remember watching the second blair witch movie in theaters when I was young, I was pretty scared the whole time, I remember just wishing I was home. My younger brother had to leave the theatre during it
I recently watched Sinister and Babadook and I thought they were both great movies but not really that scary. Just interesting horror films.

Yeah, that's why I'd like to see a simple youtube clip of it at mid day :lol
I'm not interested in watching horror movies really.. don't like them. But watching youtube clips like this, being prepared for whats coming and able to check whats gonna happen by scrolling the mouse over the video timebar, why not..
