Come on at least enforce the rules of the game, this is the biggest thing that annoys me about ASG weekend... players have evolved it into a weekend of playing no defense and just clowning around on offense and refs now just take the damn weekend off

It isn't basketball... aren't we supposed to be watching the best basketball players PLAY BASKETBALL against each other? Am I the only one who wants to see a legitimate competition with these guys pride on the line rather than a blatant disregard of rules just for some gimmicky highlights!? I thought the double dribble was hilarious, but I couldn't have cared much less. I have no vested interest in the game's result - I'm interested in the Rookie Game for its entertainment value.

Surely, there needs to be a baseline of rules and officials must continue giving a significant effort. But by no means do I tend to care when a call that'd usually be automatic during the regular season happens to slip by in an exhibition event. That one-time occurrence of an awful no-call is more humorous to me than anything else. And as a bonus, we got a nice dunk out of it.

Clearly, there's a line there somewhere - if everyone just tucked and ran downcourt like Barry Sanders - obviously that'd be different. But I'd consider last night more a slight loosening of the reigns than absolute mayhem.

When I double dribble or travel I immediately stop and give the ball to the other team. It just feels wrong to keep playing. Dude didn't even flinch when he double dribbled which means he probably does it in practice.

The problem with the NBA is that when a player in about to do a dunk or layup refs don't call anything at all. Every week you see dunks or other highlights in the top 10 that should have been called travel/carry or whatever.
