That is 4 more money balls than any time in NBA history........ what Steph Curry did was awesome, but not historic whatsoever...

Craig Hodges hit 19 shots in a row, only 3 were money balls made (out of 5)..... say there was a 5 money ball rack (meaning 4 more money balls) he would end up with ~30 points....

So salty over Curry this kid.

Curry is MVP. Lebron isn't this season. Deal with it.

What the hell does this have to do with being "salty" or "Lebron"?

There is 4 more money balls in the 3PT contest, for the first time ever.... what Curry did was NOT better than Hodges..... focus on that please?

I understand and Curry is one of my favorite players in the league...... but i dont like these ridicilous rule changes, its like changing a 2pt shot in a game to a 3pt shot and a 3pt shot to a 4pt shot...... its disrespectful to NBA HISTORY.... 3PT contest will just give asterisks to everybody...

Thats my problem....

Hodges on mj's team + love for LeBron and thus hate for rival = propping of Craig.

Also Larry Bird being LeBrons all time sf competition.. Hodges being the guy Bird dissed.. yup pure stanning of bran.

i don't understand the point of that rack. seems like its only effect will be to make the old record obsolete... or the new one meaningless. higher numbers, woohoo. might as well make each regular ball worth 3 and money ball worth 6. HOLY SHIT HE PUT UP 68 POINTS!!!!

Regardless of how it affects the 'history' of the 3 point contest, I actually like it. I think it adds an extra element of strategy to the event based on where you place it.

They should have taken the money balls off the back end of each rack if they're gonna have 5 on one rack.

Wait, are they treating Curry's 27 as the "real" 3P Shootout record? I mean what he did was great and all, but you can't give a player an opportunity at eight more possible points with four more money balls then, when he "breaks" the record act like he's the new record holder.

I agree but I don't care because it's a stupid contest. I'm more concerned with what happens in games.

4 more points.

Curry

rack1:3/5* (4pts
rack2: 4/5 (4pts
rack3: 4/5*(5pts
Rack4 5/5* (6pts
Rack5 4/5 (4pts

*Denotes moneyball made(the last shot)

Gives him 23 points if this were without the money ball rack, which is 2 points away from Kapono and Hodges

It's funny how the new 4 extra money ball format started LAST YEAR and nobody had an issue with it....until this year.

Oh, I see it's because we have an MVP front runner winning the contest. LOL

No one cared last year, this was the first time the three point contest had major hype.
Yes, it got hyped as it should.....but for this thread being made is because who the winner is.

I agree, its pretty stupid..And especially stupid if they're going to claim "new record" and all this sh*t and not put it in context that the rules are different...

I'm sure somebody would have made this thread no matter who won if the NBA was claiming they "set a record".
