Wilt really brought that ball low. You can't even get away with that in high school games anymore.

RoundMoundOfReb
02-16-2015, 02:01 AM
Wilt wouldn't even be a 6th man today. Of course he'd have those numbers because he was the only decent player in that watered down league. Lmao all you needed to be is 6,5 in the 60's and you'd easily be in the all star game. Lebron would probably average like 250 points per game if he played during Wilts era.

Wilt is the greatest athlete of all time. 7 foot 1 monster with soft hands and impeccable footwork for his time.

Imagine if he was born in the early 90's and was able to benefit from all the advantages of today.

He and Durant would be in their own tier. Durant is a better finals performer so he'd be considered better.... but still, Wilt has a strong case for GOAT.

What the hell are you talking about? It's a team sport. We're discussing individual production in the finals where Wilt and LeBron fall short.

So then 2/5 shouldn't matter for LeBron either?

It's should but it's not the be all end all.

Durant at 23 shouldn't be criticised just like LeBron at 22 wasn't. (even though Durant shot 20% better than LeBron in his first finals)

But LeBron at 26 was getting a lot of shit for not having a ring...despite playing on worse teams than Durant.

Why do you insist that 2011 Heat were not better than any team Durant has played for? :facepalm

He played awful and they still were very much in that series and should've won. Durant plays great and his team gets beat in 5 because poor coaching and terrible role players.

You put Durant on that 2011 Heat team and they sweep Dallas easy. EASY.

2011 LeBron failed. No excuses.

But he was getting shit before that...it's why he left for Miami...Every other year? With Mo williams as the best 2nd option? Nope.

The average team Durant has been MUCH better than the Average team Lebron had been on up to and including 2011....2012 thunder are arguably better minus their best player than the 2011 Heat.

It's close, but 2011 Wade > 2012 Westbrook, and 2011 Bosh > 2012 Harden

I'd take 2012 Harden over 2011 Bosh fairly easily. In fact i'd take 2012 Harden over any version of Chris Bosh probably. Harden didn't magically get way better next year...he just got the ball more...And that Heat team had no depth. They had no Ibaka...or even Kendrick Perkins...they were starting Joel Anthony.

Thunder teams were better than those Cavs teams but it doesn't mean Durant should have a ring. You have to be the BEST team to win a ring and LeBron has been surrounded by the BEST for arguably 5 straight years now.

People think the Thunder are stacked because of name recognition but they're the most top heavy team in the league with the worst coach and no big men up to this point.

If anything, Durant has over-achieved.

Paul George wears 24 (pretty sure) because he's a Kobe fan...should he be held to Kobe's standards? Is he a failure if he never wins 5 rings and ends up as a 1st ballot HOFer?

How many countless players wear a number because their idol did? it means nothing.

Besides Jordan was older than 26 when he won his 1st anyways.

2012 Thunder were more talented outside of their best player than the Heat....I'd argue they were more talented overall - most talented team in the league that year...Heat were just a bad matchup.

Exactly. And 2012 Wade > Westbrook and not close.

Plus Heat were better perimeter defense and 3pt shooting team. How are the Thunder better without Durant that Heat without LeBron? How?

That isn't true. Wade was having knee problems in the playoffs. That was the first year he started to fall apart, meanwhile westbrook was dropping 45 in the finals. It's close between the 2 that's for sure.

LeBron put up 29/10/7 that series...he was the leading, scorer, rebounder, playmaker...a lot of those 3s by the Heat were created by LeBron. Durant had a great scoring series but his rebounding, playmaking and defense were non existent...dude got torched by Mario Chalmers...plus he struggled with TOs iirc.
