If nets do this, expect a fire sale.

I'm confused. How does this impact the Celtics? I'm guessing something to do with somebody owing them a draft pick.

Does DET have a 1st round pick this season?
If so, they should offer that to PHX for dragic and see with what the suns respond with.
Dragic
JJ
Singler?
Monroe
Drummond
could be a 2nd rd team
Detroit is extremely stupid if this is true

They own Brooklyn's pick. Although I believe next year's pick.

Ok. Still, I think it is wise to get rid of Johnson's bloated contract for the Nets.

Due to the Pierce/KG trade the Celtics will be messing with the Nets' draft for years to come.

I guess it is if they are trying to sell the team as rumored. But their push to win a Championship last season that came so ridiculously short has made it so that for a few years they can't rebuild through the draft so if they aren't getting rid of all contracts for the sake of a sale they might as well win as much as possible.

It will take a miracle either way for the Nets to recover quickly. Might as well save some money and look towards long term improvement if they aren't going to compete.

Man, the Nets did not learn from the draft pick (Lillard) for G. Wallace trade, did they?

Why would Detroit do this? Jennings has been great after the departure of Josh Smith and Joe Johnson is overpaid

So SVG isn't sold on the Jennings transformation? Or he is but would rather blow it up instead?

Is it improbable that he'll return to form? Just because he's injured doesn't make him damaged goods over the long haul. It's not as if JJ is advancing this Detroit team into the playoffs.

I dont know anything about his work ethic, but an Achilles tear is a serious injury. He was never that good and you are looking at two years of him playing his way back into standard. Which was never that good.

Yes. Let's ****ing do it.
JJ to DET for Jennings + Expirers.
Lopez to OKC for Jackson (maybe I'm dreaming) or Lamb/Morrow/Perk/Picks.
D-Will to SAC for poo poo platter of Derrick Williams, Thompson + expirers + picks.

It's amazing how so many people were unaware of Brandon Jennings' injury. Should be out another 5-6 months. That's why I said fire sale in the OP. Johnson has regressed a lot imo opinion this year. He always starts slow but never takes this long to heat up. If he continues to play the way he has I really really like this trade if it happens.

If Gores doesn't care about the money; might as well. Both have the same time on the contract. SVG wants to make the playoffs this year and JJ can hit a 3, not sure about pick n roll at his age. BJ isn't playing this year anyway and will have a long comeback next year. They can just trade JJ's huge expiring next year.
Although, I'd rather see them go at Dragic.

ya but i highly doubt that will completely take off his game.
dude has arguably the best handles in the nba, he can create multiple ways, and his passing is amazing.
not to mention he can actually shoot the ball
if he was a lot older it would be a huge issue, Brandon Jennings still has years ahead of him

Jennings had a few good weeks. He's had a lot more bad weeks, and he just tore his achilles. Go for it Detroit

players with skills have more room to work with is what im saying
jennings doesn't rely on athleticism alone to create space to shoot
he has some of the best handles the nba has ever seen--dribbling and passing included
im not saying he's gonna be the same but to say he wont be effective for the next few years is a bold prediction
if he was older i can definitely see a bigger problem

Dominique was the only one to come back and be his former self. This injury ruins careers. Step backs, cross overs, and other herky jerky shit he uses to get space will not be there when he comes back from that injury.

They're currently 2 games for the 8th seed, and Augustin has been pretty serviceable. Sounds like a good deal to me, both teams get something out of it.

I think sports science has come a long ways to help overcome a complete athletic decline at an exponential level.
I can argue with you all day long, but at the end of the day I guess we will find out next season.

Well there's no proof to back up your claim. There have been multiple recent studies (after Kobe's) examining the injury and they all concluded that it's pretty devastating and the only person to truly recover was 'Nique 25 years ago.

From what I've read, NetsDaily said this rumor was "nothing". I'm not even sure the Pistons would have enough contracts to give up that'd equal $25 million.

True but Kobe was able to come back and perform at a high level.
We can sit here and say he wasn't the same, but he was never put in an environment to be able to measure that.
He was doubled on and off the ball.
Give him space and you seriously don't think Kobe can pick out his spots and drain shots more efficiently?
Years back they didn't have achilles tendon strengthening, today you can do stiff ankle jumps, COD drills, and various balance ball exercises to strengthen it.
Of course the tendon isn't going to be the same, but to say it is completely going to drain an athlete is naive.
