I've been reading that Portland is pushing hard for Wilson Chandler and that they are prepared to trade a 1st round pick and an additional player (likely Thomas Robinson)

It would be a great move for Portland and prob best case scenario for Denver if they want to get something for Chandler. With Batum's inconsistent play they need a SF who can score and play defense. If Chandler comes to Portland and plays well I could see Batum being traded in the off-season. (A lot of teams are interested in him, especially the Raptors who have said they are willing to trade Terrence Ross, Ross and fillers for Batum would help both teams. IMO)

Anyways, I'm hoping this deal gets done. Here are a few links to what I've been reading. Thoughts?

Anyways, I would love to have Chandler or Afflalo. But I think that Chandler would fit our team better. He could be a legit piece in helping our team IMO.

Adjusted thread title.

But it seems if Portland decides they want him they can get him for a 1st round pick and and Thomas Robinson.

If that's the case, I expect this sh1t to be done by the deadline Thursday

Zach Lowe reported last month that Denver was just waiting on the inclusion of a first round pick. More recently though it was written that Denver's GM highly values Chandler and can envision keeping him. The Mozgov deal made him think his players are all worth at least one first rounder + an extra asset.

FWIW I think Chandler can be a real asset for Portland off the bench. My gut feeling is this deal gets done by the deadline. Portland needs to spruce up their wings and I'm not sure if Tayshaun Prince has enough left in the tank to be that guy for them.

As I see it I think they were going to give Crabbe and not the first round pick + barton/TRob to get him but since Denver is demanding the first so much they are keeping Crabbe instead. At least that's what I think went down.

I think this is fantastic for Blazers if happens. I will miss TRob but Chandler as I see it fits in nicely with the Blazers and we get to keep players like Crabbe/CJ too.

oh and no way in hell we are Trading Batum in the summer. He just needs rest and once he heals properly he will be a very important part of this team going forward.

Now fingers crossed that this thing actually goes through

Great deal for Portland. A starting five of Lillard - Matthews - Batum - LaMarcus - Lopez with a bench rotation of Blake - Chandler - Leonard - Kaman looks good.

Portland's bench have been a joke for a years. Wilson Chandler could play around 30 minutes from the bench at SG-SF-PF.

Lakers need to jump on this and throw Hill + 1st at this guy, we need that perimeter defense next year.

He needs to get his wrist fixed, first.

Nuggz are headed nowhere and chances are his mins would be cut anyways to get a look at their other players. I'd say it's a break even situation for you.
