While it is true that Reggie Jackson played very well in the regular season last year when he averaged 21 points per game, they didn't carry over as much in the playoffs for he averaged 11.8 ppg.

Just waiting for something to happen because this will be interesting over the next day.

Such poor coaching and team management from the Thunder. Small market teams can't afford to make so many mistakes. If KD ends up leaving, OKC is just going to be another small market team in a stacked Western Conference. The mid-west version of the Sacramento Kings.

If this is true, then I'm even more fine with trading him. I think $12M/yr is overpaying for Reggie but I get why we'd do it since he's "one of our own." But if he's going to turn down that much to be a 4th-ish option on one of the few true contenders in the league, on top of his bitching and unhappy disposition that's been clearly evident since November, then trade him. He's really not worth more than $8M-$10M/yr, and I'd only say his value to OKC, since we've already got Durant, Russ, and Waiters, is about $5M-$7M/yr. So yeah, it's even more clear now he wants to start, play 30-35 MPG, and shoot as much as he wants.

And this should forever shut-up the "OKC is cheap" crowd going forward when referring to Reggie Jackson. We offered someone not even close to being in James Harden's ballpark $12M/yr and he turned it down. He's clearly looking out for himself in more than just money. Which is fine if that's what he wants, but $12M/yr is VERY generous for Reggie "Contested Super High Arching Stepback 18-Footer" Jackson.

Im going to assume that this is a false rumor by the okc front office. 12 million a year is really close to his max of like 15 I believe. no way he gets more than 12 million a year on any team. His agent couldnt be that dumb.

It doesn't shut up the "OKC is stupid" crowd though. What the hell the hell were they thinking offering him that type of money? They're lucky Jackson was dumb enough to turn it down.

Probably one last attempt to reconcile their soured relationship. If he had accepted, and remained content with his role, then with the likely increasing cap coming witht he new TV deal, $12M/yr is bearable and semi-acceptable. It's still overpaying, for sure, but teams generally have to overpay a bit to keep their own.

LOTS of FA PGs out there and not a lot of demand. Reggie's ego has outsized his production and value. We'll see where he ends up but he will be kicking himself for not taking 12M/. He is extremely limited as a player and is older than people think.
