EDIT: It's true and so sad at only 52 years old. Guy was in great shape and married for a couple years.
Life was really getting good for him.
Here's his wife's twitter page.
https://twitter.com/TeriKersey
I really feel bad for her right now.

Anyone seeing these reports? Some are saying it was his friends that died. I can't seem to find a real story. Anyone know if it's true?
He looked great last week. He's a Blazers talk show guy.
Just googled him, nothing. Hope not.
Anthony Mason news from last week is bad enough.
Losing our 90s forwards.

It doesn't make any sense. One of the tweets says his friends died. Was there some sort of car accident? No one will say what is going on or how he died.
Just heard on the radio that friends are reporting that he passed away. I didn't catch any details, but I thought he deserved a thread ASAP

Apparently, this was just yesterday he was out with Terry Porter and Brian Grant.
Blazers' greats Jerome Kersey, Brian Grant and Terry Porter talk African American History Month at Madison High school (http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2015/02/blazers_greats_jerome_kersey_brian_grant_and_terry .html)

That's what makes this more of a shock. He looked great on the post game shows. He wasn't morbidly obese like Duckworth. I wonder if it was a heart attack.

DAmn... If that's true, RIP.
He was a good contributor to some great teams... Big, bulk, strong, athletic, pretty good scorer, pretty good defender, rebounded, decent passer, and a very powerful dunker. I enjoyed watching him play.

Yes, he was real good. Boderline All-Star would have probably made a few teams if Portland was in the East.
I miss players like him, Mason (who I hope gets will and doesn't follow my mane Kers, X-Man, ect) big 3's that could also play the 4 spot.

You know what, when I saw it, I thought the exact same thing. Like this is nasty as ****. But I thought I would be the only one who felt that way. It looks way better in slow motion than it does in real time....

I remember after the Knicks gave my Bulls that 7 game scare in the 92 ECFs being so glad the X-Man was moved to Boston after he abused Pippen in that series, only to be replaced by a meaner SOB in Mason :oldlol:

Kersey underwent a knee surgery earlier this week and Wednesday reportedly told fellow Trail Blazer employees at the team's Rose Quarter office that he wasn't feeling well and was going to go home. He apparently collapsed on the way to his car. Cause of death is unknown at the time this is written.

Yeah probably a saddle PE in a branch of the pulmonary artery or even the main branch.

So sad for Kersey.

Well it says he had surgery and calf pain which means possibly a DVT---DVT breaks off into circulation and lodges into pulmonary artery or branch or the main pulmonary artery and causes sudden death. It's not common but it's also not uncommon.

Aw, man. :(
Peaceful Journey, Jerome.
Playing NBA 2K now will be...I dunno. I only play with the Legends teams (CPU vs CPU) and Portland is one of the teams I play the most. Knowing Jerome has passed away, along with two other Blazers that are gone from us (Drazen Petrovic and Kevin Duckworth)...can't put it into words.

Those Blazer teams would've been unbelievable if they had just taken Jordan instead of Bowie.

Kersey was a dagger jumper and rebounder for the trailblazers in their hay day.
When he came to Milwaukee - he solidified a locker room when the Bucks were in the playoffs.
It was this attitude that got him in as a coach and players looked up to him.
His love was the night life and his cars.
He was quite well known for his car collection , and was on some shows ,showing off his cars.
From Bentley's to Nova's , he liked them all.
RIP big fella.
