Does ISH seriously revolve on Lebron James?
Doesn't this send a message TO THE REST OF OUR CONFERENCE that the Heat plan on defending our Eastern Conference crown?
The damn Cavs are not even in first place...
Are we not trying to send a message to Rose or Horford or Lowry?
Do you think Riley is as obsessed with Lebron as ISH seems to be?

LeBron left but the heat got:
Their best center since Shaq
2 additional all stars
Best point guard in the draft
And a top 5 current NBA point guard
Seems more than fair dont you think?

lets be real. the heat record really should be better than it is. yeah i know they've had injuries and inconsistent lineups, but they still put out a decent roster night in and night out. 3rd qtr collapses, inability to adjust, bad pt rotations, etc. thats all on the coaching. im not saying they should be a top team. but they should at least be better than bad.

lets hope dragic will get his opportunities to play like we know he can play. last year in his breakout year, the suns team was his and he delivered. then the FO signed a bunch of low iq chuckers, taking away the fire of the dragon.
wade this year started off great. he had the perfect balance of playing off ball(residual effects of playing with lebron), and playing playmaker. it was a smart efficient game and that allowed him to shoot a high percentage. but as the season went on, wade started being more ball dominant and less off ball. im sorry, but at this age, wade cant be a ball dominant player anymore and still be efficient. its just not gonna happen. thats why the more ball dominant he has become, the more his fg% keeps dropping.
hopefully, now with dragic, wade will revert back to that perfect balance, allowing the heat to make the most of dragic's skills.

So LeBron's situation on this Cavaliers team is the same as in 2008 or 2010? I think you're forgetting about two three-time All-Stars that are top 5 at their position, solid starters in J.R. Smith and Mozgov, and the rest of their incredibly deep roster.

Once again I am in agreement. Also as Wade's responsibility grew his health deteriorated. Having the Dragon will surely help. Plus now Whiteside is a threat whenever Wade or Drago have the ball and even Chalmers can find Whiteside.

but *uck, im pretty excited. during the wade era, the heat have mostly been a second half(of the season) team. must have something to do with his college days where he beasted during march madness. it was like that his rookie year. it was like that his '06 title year. and if the team can finally consistently put a healthy team on the floor during this back stretch, they will be a dangerous team come playoff time.

He's still shooting 49 percent. If you're judging him against his big 3-era shooting, don't. Those days are gone forever (for LeBron too, if you haven't noticed).
And yes, Wade has to be ball-dominant or he's not Wade, not the real one, anyway. He needs the ball in his hands to maximize his threat to both score and create for others.
Dragic's ball-dominant tendencies worry me a bit, but with LeBron gone, Wade isn't going back to playing off the ball. He'll still have the ball in the 4th quarter, although Dragic could relieve some of that burden. But, my hope for the addition of Dragic is that the Heat's offense won't go to shit anymore when Wade rests.

Thomas Robinson getting a buyout from Denver. Def think Riley should scoop him up. Heat need frontcourt depth post-trade. They still have McRoberts DPE to utilize to offer the most $$$.
There will be more guys, I'm sure, getting buyouts, but he brings a certain energy spark Miami could use. I bet Bass gets bought out, too. Wonder if Perkins is in the cards, too, though I think CLE, LAC, and CHI were front-runners to get him.

Last I heard was Blatche was considering re-signing a more lucrative offer in China instead of coming back to the NBA for a playoff team, but that was last week (honestly can't remember which reporter said it).
T-Rob is athletic, long, a little short, but plays with lots of energy. He tries to play outside his role, so he makes mistakes. He's still pretty young and hasn't had a chance to have a consistent role. SAC drafted him (wrong team theory courtesy of Rose & Simmons), then he got flipped quickly to HOU, who dumped him to Portland to clear max space for Dwight.
Maybe he becomes Riley's latest reclamation project and finds some success. He's so quick laterally for a PF that he should be a great PnR defender, but he doesn't have the defensive smarts or focus to execute as often as you'd like.
Zach Lowe wrote on him during last season, I think, if you want to check it out. I might try to pull the link. Portland fans would have more knowledge than me on his strengths/weaknesses.
He wants mins and you guys need bodies, so I figured it could be a match.

How are the Heat stacked at PF? You guys only have Birdman & Haslem as bench PF/C guys, I thought. McRoberts is done for the season, right? You guys need somebody that can play 15-18mpg to rest Bosh.
Not sure which great wing FAs are available right now, but I think you need somebody else there too. Heat have like 3 roster spots available, so they'll be pretty active imo. Chicago had interest in Ronnie Brewer, though I'm unsure if that'll materialize. Also not sure what he has left.

Miroslav Raduljica is available and he's a big body. He got cut very quickly from Minnesota after coming back from China, though, so not sure what the deal was. He had decent rim protections #s for the Bucks last season but he played much lazier this year. Was weird how quickly he got waived though.
Jeff Adrien is another guy who brings defense/energy off the bench. He's undersized but he plays very hard. More of a small PF though.

Why would the heat.. be worrying about the spurs? For all your talk about seeding the Spurs are the seventh seed. Heat are currently 8th or 7th.. there's like a .001 % chance the heat see the Spurs in the playoffs.
Heat will worry about jus getting out of the first round.. and with their current additions and standing they will likely finish 7th or 6th or something. The Cavs with how they've played since bron returned will likely finish top 3.. so they are right in each others ballparks. It shouldn't need to be explained the revenge factor of Lebron facing his old team. How intriguing and hyped that series would be compared to the raptors.. stop being so dense.

Why should the Heat be worried about the Spurs? I don't know, maybe because you know they beat the Heat in LAST year's playoffs, and we went to a 7 game series the year before? Because they are the defending champions and returned much of their that roster?
:confusedshrug:
But even if the Heat should not be worried about the Spurs...the question I have is why the hell should the Heat be worried about a fifth placed Cavs team? If that is the case, why not worried about the 4th placed Washington team? Or the third placed Bulls team? Or the second placed Raptors team?
Or even worry about a Boston and Nets team that we are fighting with for the 8th seed?
Not sure why Miami should be especially worried about a Cavs team that even if we beat will not be the biggest hurdle in returning to the Finals.

Nobody hates LeBron but it would be sweet to get him out of the playoffs using the same team he ditched. The players relationships are bigger than basketball, but then there is actual basketball. A competitive sport. I loved seeing Wade vs Bron in the late 00s and Id love to see it one last time in the playoffs. With everything at stake and revenge in the air.
Revenge for stealing our draft picks.

Yea the heat should definitely be worrying about facing a team in the fourth round that likely won't make it there while they themselves would have to perform a miracle to go that far without hca for three straight rounds.. Makes a ton of sense.
And the heat would be worried about the wizards or Raptors if they had to face them.. op is simply pointing out that the way momentum is going there's a chance the Cavs get a seed that would match up with a seed Miami could get in the first round.. and that that would be one of the most viewed and greatest match ups to see.. idk wtf you're going on about.

We need to do a little review:
Revenge the NBA=Shaq hating the Lakers and Kobe. Raja Bell hating Kobe. Rondo and Lebron. Noah and Lebron.
KG hating Allen after joining the Heat.
I have no idea in what world the Miami Heat hates or would want to seek revenge (again, revenge for what) against the Cavs/Lebron.
I have no idea in what world the Cavs/Lebron hates or would want to seek revenge against the Heat organization.
I have no idea in what world even Heat fans would hate or would want to seek revenge against the Cavs/Lebron. Unless these same fans hates and want to seek revenge against ALL teams not named the Miami Heat.

Explain to me why the Heat should not hate on a Raptors team that we also traded away picks for in the Bosh deal? And are currently sitting in 2nd place in our conference?
And with the way things are going, the Heat could very well meet the Raptors in the playoffs. Should the Heat be making moves with "revenge" on the minds of getting "back" at the Raptors?
Guys are living in la la la land.
I believe the Heat from Mickey to Riley to Wade and Spo could give two craps about the Cavs. If they are as obsessed with the Cavs as SOME Heat fans on this board...they ALL need to be fired.
What the hell are we making decisions based on what some 5th placed team team that has not been to the Finals in about a decade and more importantly, has not won a championship since the time most of our parents were still in grade school?

He's a point guard.
Actually he isn't. He is called a point guard for some reason and teams tried to use him as one a lot, but he's not really a point guard.
He's actually a shooting guard that likes to dominate the ball, if you really want to be honest about it.
The Suns were simply using him at his actual position and he got pissed off.
He does not have basic fundamental point guard skills other than dribbling and pick and roll. But yes, he is obviously much better than the crap the Heat were using at the position, and Cole and Chalmers are not really point guards either.

that was 5 years ago.. Lebron left like 8 months ago. Nobody gives a shit about some picks the heat gave away half a decade ago that haven't materialized into anything signifigant.
many would care about a Heat Cavs matchup.. Lebron vs his former team of 'scrubs'. It would draw way way way better ratings than heat raptors. that's why it's being mentioned. Your skull must be made of granite.

So it is not Lebron v. scrubs...rather Lebron v. the most stacked team of all time.

I'm not calling them scrubs.. which is why I put it in parentheses. I'm referring to other people calling them that.. headlines of the 'Miami cavaliers'.
And no we are not going in circles. You are just being stupid. Acting like people would see raptors heat as some sort of grudge match because of a bunch of picks nobody remembers or cares about. Nobody talked about Heat-Raptors in the context of viewership.
The OP made a thread about how the Heat are going to "get revenge" on Lebron and the Cavs...
My question is...why the hell should the Heat seek revenge on the Cavs? His response seemed to indicate because the Cavs have our draft picks...My response is the Raptors have our draft picks AND they are in second place in the East.
And more over, why should the Heat care about the Cavs as a opposed to the Hawks, or Raptors, or Wizards or Bulls?
The team Miami would ACTUALLY like to seek revenge on is the Spurs as they are the defending champions...and have basically the same roster...
And not some team that my parents were barely alive when they last won a championship...
And a team that since I have been a Heat fan (1999) we have not (at least not that I can remember) played in the playoffs.
Because of ISH, I am sure if Lebron steps on a crack on the sidewalk, it would be headline news...
So you guys would make ANY series involving Lebron headline news...
The Heat (and I) are FAR FAR FAR more interested in getting to Finals and winning rings...

My prediction is that the Heat would be like the Portland a couple years back. Great starting lineup with a horrible bench production. If Spo could manage the rotation right, then the Heat could mask it. He has a great starting lineup. Pretty damn lucky to fill up the Heat's weakest spots with Whiteside and Dragic now that LBJ is gone.

Yes there is. There is something DEEPLY wrong with following around a grown man that probably cares more about his son dog's bowel movements than he does about moronic posters going from team to team hating on him.
It's pathetic.
He came. He fulfilled his contractual obligations (far better than either Wade or Bosh did while he was here) and decided to do what he felt was best for himself and his family.
The Heat, when we traded Miller or Cole or Shaq or Beasley, did what we felt was in the best interest of the Heat organization.

Because the cavs have a player that just ditched them for greener pastures? Tossing wade and bosh aside like used condoms replacing them with young fresh all stars? That was the story coming into this year.. how would wade and bosh react to being left behind for LeBron. Would they be scrubs and incapable without him or prove something?
Which is why a playoff series between the two would be so great.. all the injury problems could be tossed aside and it'd be a fresh seven game series.. and a great battle of former teammates.
The heat will 'care' about any opponent they need to face.. it is us FANS of basketball that would love to see them get a shot at LeBron after he left them.. especially heat fans since a lot of them don't like LeBron as much as they did before because of the actions he took.

You don't need to bother with him considering from what he says and argues, he's either mentally deformed or a troll with nothing to do. He clearly feels the need to argue that a series between the Spurs (or any other team) and Heat should generate as much hype as one between the Heat and Cavs.

At the end of the day, no sane person would hate on LeBron for leaving
Riley had one Max to give out, and gave it to Bosh instead of LeBron, he made his choice
How would you feel if a spot up shooter got the max over you?
Riley had the nerve to Give LeBrons Max to Bosh, heck I would leave as well if I was disrespected like that.

Well put and it's true. Fans aren't rational, they're fans and they don't vire their teams rationally (normally) and that's what's great about being a fan. They also hate their players who leave for other teams (normally) and that's cool too. It's sports which is entertainment. Good post.
