View Full Version : 8th seed out West

I think it's clear that OKC has the most talent (of the 3 teams vying for 8th) and will be the 8seed at least this year.
I like the Suns and the Peli's, but do any ISH'ers think either team has a remote chance for a playoff spot?
I have a bet with a friend that OKC gets in, and I said its 100% guaranteed they make it. He didn't like that 100% number so he bet me.
What say you ISH fam?

PS - I have no idea of the schedules for those 3 teams the rest of the way out, but again, I don't think it matters.

Unless westbrook it out for a significant amount of time I think Theyre a lock for 8th.
Phoenix just gutted their roster

The Suns basically just blew it up.
They're obviously out of contention now.

I mean Knight is pretty good and trading Miles shouldn't hurt much since they have Len and Wright.
PHX losing 7 of 10 before break is what really crushed em. That lead felt like their only shot to make the playoffs.
And yes RussGod alone should get them in and those trades were a thing of beauty.

Oh shit I forgot Thomas is on Boston now. I like Isaiah but maybe trading him will help the team function better with more defined roles for Bledsoe and Knight.
Although those 2 are both SGs in PG bodies.

This is going to be a playoff race for the ages.
1. GS - Curry, Thomson
2. MEM - Gasol, Randolph, Conley
3. POR - Aldridge, Lilliard
4. HOU - Harden, Howard
5. LAC - Paul, Griffin, Jordan
6. DAL - Dirk, Ellis, Parsons, etc.
7. SAS - Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Leonard
8. OKC - Durant, Westbrook
No playoff rookies, 6-8 seeds legitimate contenders.

The question is can OKC move up to 6th or 7th? I think after this trade they are super legit as long as Brooks doesn't ruin it. Phoenix locker room must have been horribly toxic for those trades.

Thats scary as hell. Mavs spurs and okc are 678. :biggums: how funny would it be if 123 get knocked off by 678.

I'd bet on 678 over 123
GS needs to tank out of that first seed

Honestly, I think Portland and Memphis are two of the more beatable Playoff teams out West. Really wouldn't surprise me.

OKC's seed depends on a toe to be honest.

I see spurs being the 8th seed. With that said memphis vs okc all over again. This time durant doesnt have reggie to bail him out.

Yeah, it will be between the Pelicans and Thunder, and I don't see the Pelicans keeping up.

If those standings hold the Spurs are gonna go from winning it all to getting bounced in the first round. Western Conference be crazy

Spurs would do themselves a huge favor getting up to 6th seed.

Yup. I'm pretty sure Pop still gets nightmares due to the ass raping of 2011 at the hand of the Grizz.

This is a 2 horse race my friends. You can thank Konex for that...

I've said from the start they'd make the playoffs despite the injuries and it's going to happen. This team is too talented and Phoenix hasn't looked as good as last year

If so, Pels can forget about that 8th

I don't see San An losing a 5 game lead. They had a rough loss last night but they are healthy and will turn it up the rest of the way out .

If Durant were healthy the rest of the way, the Thunder could make a push for the 6th seed. But as it stands, 8th is more likely.
I hope Durant is fully ready to go for that first round. GS-OKC will be so entertaining.

houston had a small chance just like almost everyone in the west playoffs, but with howard ailing it's looking grim.
dallas has no chance for konex reasons

At this point, the record barely matters. While the Warriors are in a league of their own, the 2-8th seed are all pretty much equal. The only upset would be if the eight seed beat the Warriros, all other match ups are just toss ups. Harden is playing at an elite level, Memphis continue to lock down their opponents, you can never count the Spurs out, the Mavs still have Dirk and enough time to integrate Rondo, Blazers have Lillard and Aldridge, thunder have durant and Westbrook. The only weakness I see is Clippers with Griffin out for so long, their record may suffer and make them stumble towards the postseason. Rockets too come to think of that, although our defence has held up reasonably well.

Manu played with a broken arm and we lost in 6.
We literally swept them just 2 years ago.

Manu vs Portland: 9/4/3/ on .390 TS%
He wasn't a top 10 Spur in the series; they win in 5.
Sure he is. :oldlol:
