I pose a philosophical question. If you were given the reins to rule the entire world for 30 minutes at the cost of your life, what would you do in that time? What would your legacy be that you leave behind?

It MUST be
a) currently technologically feasible (no warp drive),
b) humane (no mass murder)
c) reasonable (no 'have sex with every hot actress/model on Earth in 30 mins' or 'time travel back to bang Marilyn Monroe' :oldlol: )

I would do the 5 following things:
-Global democracy for EVERY person's voice to count. That means end to communism & tyranny - death to Kim Jung Un and any current tyranny leaders
-Shift all funds to clean energy and ZERO funds for coal/oil. This includes massive funds for nuclear fusion research & solar power research ($3 trillion fund total)
-big fund for creating space elevator to make it easier to get people & nuclear waste/non-recyclable garbage in space. Forget about storing waste underground or using rockets. Lets send it into the sun or away from our solar system ($500 billion fund total for research + build 10 of them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_elevator_economics))
-globally force 3 kids max for every couple moving forward to cut down on uncontrolled population growth. I think 3 is more than reasonable
-big fund for water filtration system research to efficiently convert salt water into drinkable water ($500 billion fund)
-sleep with Scarlett Johansson and Candice Swanepoel at same time as I lay dying

What would your verse be?

I'd start communism in its idealistic form.

Think of it not in terms of the 30 minutes, but what would you do in that time-frame? Quality not quantity. In fact, I will edit & clarify it.

Then why not just the 30 minutes. What's the point of dying?

What you do in that time would be your legacy that you leave behind. Makes it more meaningful & more important. Don't make it tougher than it has to be. And you can make it just 30 minutes if you feel that works.

You think all these things could be implemented in 30 minutes?

If you can just have a list prepared and rattle off anything you want in 30 minutes to magically be done, why limit yourself to five?

Wow, you guys are more stuck on the "30 minutes" and not the idea behind it.. I should have expected this.

The 30 minutes is just to make what choices you make very decisive and important. You can make those 30 minutes into 30 days or 30 months..

I know the next question will be: What if the world goes back to how things were before the 30 mins? You don't know that just like you don't know when humanity will go extinct! It's about the fundamental idea! Don't be too held up on the semantics.

Employ all of the scientists in the world to give me more time to live.
