They are actually sort of similar to the 2010-11 Cavaliers 50 games into the season when all of the vets had been moved and "injuries" were tallied. That would be a game for the ages.

It's funny... think back to that 2010-11 season. The Cavs had just lost the best player in the league and looked like one of the worst teams ever 50 games into the season. The Knicks had just landed their biggest free agency signing in a long time with Melo and they paired him with a still very good Amar'e, JR, etc.

It looked like the planets had finally aligned for what people had talked about since that 2003 draft class entered the league... the big names would eventually flood the big markets.

Who could have possibly guessed a few short years later the Cavs and Knicks would look like this. Vegas odds would have probably been staggering.

No doubt. Especially when you compare to him to Varejao catching and getting passes. Seems like half the time when LeBron or Irving do a bounce pass to him on a screen he fumbles it around when Varejao would catch those with ease. Makes you wonder what his field goal percentage would be if he had better hands. Since joining the Cavs he's shooting 59% from the field.

why? Whats going to change? Who is the difference maker they are going to pick up in FA? Dont get me wrong, they will be "better", but I expect them to still suck. Including roster spot cap hits and the draft cap hit, they have ~45 million in salary committed and 6 players (only one of which is any good imo). Even if they land, say, Jimmy Butler, they have no frontcourt and very little $ to chase additional players.

After signing their rookie it will be around 42mil at absolute most. 25 mil to get legit plus a good rookie. Melo healthy this can turn around so fast, you don't even understand.
