These blind rankings are so obvious with who each of these players are.

Do what everyone usually does, which is vote for your favorite player or whatever agenda you're pushing.

Why B) as #1?

Because eye test tells you which player is scoring when it matters, with momentum building dominance and which player is cherry picking opportunities and seeing massive drops in efficiency when it matters most.

Yet, the "massive" drop in efficiency is still a number which player B has rarely achieved. Must be fun to watch player B miss 60% of his shots.

It doesn't matter. When you shoot a very respectable 48% from the field and your series is considered one of the worst of all time for any superstar level player.. that says a whole lot.

The difference between 45% and 50% is 1 shot if both take 20 field goals, 1 ****ing shot. Hardly as impactful as the percentages make it seem.

So if player A outscores player B while "cherry picking" how much wider would the scoring gap be if both players took the same number of shots?
Seems like player A is the GOAT if he can have the 3rd highest scoring average in NBA history while only taking good shots.

We aren't talking about a 1 game sample size here, we are comparing players who have played around 82 games a season for well over a decade. It's literally a difference of thousands of shots.

So, you'd take 15.6 on 37% (only won because of the GOAT carrying job) and 22.6 on 38% (player B literally shot his team out of a ring) over 18 on 48% (admittedly a massive choke job)?

That's not the point, the difference between the 2 is negligible, people in here acting like there is some huge gap. You can take any of them, can't go wrong with either.

Of course.

roles, defensive opponents and stages in their careers, peaks vs pre primes were vastly different. Miami would've won with kobe in place of lebron since he had two clutch closeouts in both his series and wasn't a complete non factor off ball

:oldlol:

He wouldn't have even make it to the Finals. Also, you're comparing 1 huge choke job to 2 EPIC failures in the Finals. One in which he actually shot his team out of a ring, and not letting the real Alpha on that team take care of business. Worse than being passive.

Whatever makes you feel better though.

You don't think '00 or '04 Kobe makes the Finals with the Heat in 2011 in place of LeBron?

Who's going to play SF on that team? Kobe and Wade together? Nope, not gonna to work. The team was garbage outside the big 3. As much as people say/said that Wade and LeBron were redundant on the same team, they were actually amazing when both were healthy (after that shaky start in '10).

Even if you replace Wade with a good SF, '00 Kobe is not making the Finals. Don't forget that Wade didn't play well against the Bulls in the ECF. '04 Kobe wasn't anything special either. Dude shot like shit throughout the Playoffs and the RS. 43% and 41%, IIRC.

'01 and '03 Kobe might've made it to the Finals though.

He.. isn't thinking right. Might've hit his head.

There was minimal resistance en route to the finals. Joke first round.. an older Celtic team that wade took to 7 the previous year with nobodies.. now has Kobe and bosh.

One man crew bulls who they would've easily dispatched. You can't assume wade would play as poorly if LeBron and bosh hadn't been on a tear. Wade proved what he was capable of in all the rounds before and after.. if any type of dire situation came up, his level of play would surely have risen. They would've won in 6 or less.

Then you have Kobe facing one of the worst defensive teams he's ever faced in the finals.. along with wade who historically owns the Mavs. Would've been an easy ring.

Wade and Kobe on the same team and you think they'd win a ring in '11? Yeah, clearly I'm the one who "isn't thinking right".

BTW, you think the '11 Bulls were a one man crew? Honestly? They weren't the best defense in the league in recent time and won 62 games just because of Rose, FYI.

It wouldnt surprise me at all if Kobe never reaches the finals in place of LeBron on those Heat teams.

And they can easily lose in the 2nd round to Indiana in 2012.

Kobe has played bad against the east his entire career. His finesse game is easily controlled by the more physical defenses.
