1970 Knicks
1971 Bucks
1983 76ers
1986 Celtics
1989 Pistons
1995 Rockets
1996 Bulls
2001 Lakers
2013 Heat
2014 Spurs

The above list is arbitrary and I left several great teams off, but these were all very good teams. So 82 game season with a month preseason, play with today's rules, top 6 make it with first round byes for top two teams. Who wins?

*Edited Celtics and Heat for +1 year

Goddamn. Lebron broke this fool. Where do you rank Kobe your once idol?

The team with the GOAT

Lebron

He has only a 40% winning percentage in finals series. Need to give a reason why that Heat team would be better than the other 9 over the course of a season.

I'm very tempted to pick the 83 76ers

why the 85 celtics? why not 86 celtics?

Why would you choose the absolute best Bulls team(although one could certainly argue the 92 team was better) while choosing some of the weakest from the other great franchises. The 85 Celtics didn't even win the freaking title for crying out loud. The 94 Rockets>95 Rockets despite Drexler and if we're not going by title winners, one could debate the 97 Rockets were the best of all. 01 Lakers? Not even a top 3 Laker team all time. 2013 Heat>2012 Heat. The 99 Spurs were EASILY the best of the Duncan era.

This seems like an agenda ridden thread to promote the 96 Bulls as the GOAT. Not that it matters, I would love to see them try to guard 2001 Shaq or 71 Kareem

I was off a year with the Celtics. The 94 Rockets were better? 2013 Heat in the regular season were better, so okay. I took the most recent Spurs because they were most recent.

Not really. I have a Wilt agenda, and I left his two best teams off for the heck of it. I would love to have seen the Bulls play a dominant center in the finals as well. Anyway, I'd probably root for 83 76ers out of the teams I listed, with corrections for years.

The 96' Bulls, relative to the league they were in, were the GOAT. In terms of rosters, no, because the league in 96' was far more diluted than in the past but relative to the league the results speak for themselves. :pimp:

The "Bulls vs. an elite center" thing is overplayed. Chicago faced Ewing and Daughetry numerous times as well as Shaq, Mourning a few times as well as Mutumbo. Guess who kept winning time and again?

This is true, but how would the Bulls have done against the 86 Celtics front court?

I'm taking the 61 Celtics over all of these teams. Bill Russell never lost a game 7, nuff said. I'd love to see my Celtics go against the 01 Lakers, Bill would make Shaq his absolute bitch

....I'm so tired of the Russell game 7 argument. He played a bunch of scrub teams with a superior roster, he wasn't unbeatable.

Sweat to god it's as if
Game 7 NBA Finals
The Sun(the star not Phoenix) vs 61' Celtics

Who wins?

in b4 NBA Finals are played at night, Sun would pull a Wilt and not show up

Was he supposed to go to Red and ask that they take some of the players off his team because they were too good?

Why didn't Magic request that Worthy and Byron Scott be traded because the Lakers were too good?

Why didn't Duncan request that Parker and Ginobili were traded because the Spurs were too good?

Youse a fool. All we can judge Bill on is what he did, and he was undefeated in game 7s. Nothing you can say will change that, his teams were great but Bill was the reason they were great.

Superman. Everyone knows he's powered by our kind of star. Unless the game was played on Mars, then the Martian Manhunter would have the upper hand. But they are friends off the court. This I learned on Smallville.

Yes. So we wouldn't have to endlessly debate the issue 50 years later.

Why didn't Magic request that Worthy and Byron Scott be traded because the Lakers were too good?

Not alpha enough. Demanded to be teamed up with Kareem upon entering the league.

Why didn't Duncan request that Parker and Ginobili were traded because the Spurs were too good?

Was ring chasing Kobe.

Unlike all the others, Kobe sent the best player out of town. That's true alpha genes.

Stanning Kobe is easy. You just spin an alpha story, throw a Laker legend under the bus, then prepare your 2/5 or rent free comeback when the inevitable Lebron backlash incurs.

1996 Bulls then the 1986 Celtics.
