He was like a Poor Man' version of Charles Barkley. A 20/10 type of player when he played for the Hornets.

The NBA actually did a nice job with this countdown. Some of these plays weren't super popular but belonged on the list. Well done.

Wish he never got hurt.

And as big of a fan of his as I was, he shouldn't have gotten the and-1.

I guess... I was gonna say the opposite. Some of them were great, but some of them... well I think if I was watching a 5 minute career mix as they always do, I would find some shit to sub in there.

You already knew what number 1 was gonna be. Number 4 was really nice. Buzzer beaters of course belong, but that one where the ball slipped out of his hand... hm.

Well, to me the kind of plays I wanna see in a top plays list is plays that personify the player's style. Things that you wouldn't see someone else doing... as well as huge moments for them.

The pushing the break and passing to Zo was weak and the getting fouled and making the shot that slipped out was weak, to me. I wanna feel like I'm not sure which of the 10 is the best. As someone who liked him, I dunno if I am buying those as his best plays.

-SmakBoth good points actually. I forgot about the pass. Cool, but somewhat underwhelming for a top ten, particularly at #6 or #7. And I feel you on the accidental shot too. I always thought that one was really cool but I understand your point too - not exactly a skilled shot.

Maybe I just liked seeing a lot of these plays of his from standard press angle that I hadn't seen in a long time (like the Trail Blazers flush and Vlade dunk).

Off the top of my head, I think I would have been cool with his tip-dunk against the Knicks being on there, where Dell Curry catches an outlet, takes like 12 steps with the ball on a pedastal, then misses a layup that Johnson cleans up, yelling and flexing as Charlotte's P.A. does the familiar "ELLLLLL JAYYYYY!"

^That play signifies everything I ever loved about Larry Johnson and those early 90's Hornets. I can tell that clip's ripped directly from the NBA Basketball Encyclopedia CD-ROM (1995-1996). I used to watch his biography video on a loop.

Maybe one of my favorite plays ever, just in terms of the who, the what, and the how (with the atmosphere to boot).
