Larry Sanders finalizes buyout with Bucks, has no immediate plans to return to NBA
Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders has finalized a buyout agreement on the remaining three-plus years of his contract, clearing the way for him to leave the NBA and work on the personal issues that derailed his career, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
As part of the buyout, Sanders will leave with approximately half of the $44 million extension he signed in 2014, a league source told Yahoo Sports.
Sanders has had repeated violations of the NBA's anti-drug policy and hasn't shown an inclination to immediately return to the league. Sanders could become a reclamation project for an NBA team next season, but his desire to play and ability to meet league requirements needs improving.
This guy is going to take his $20 million and smoke it away in a few years.

There are plenty of fit candidates to that position. What are the personal problems cited? Any of us could have somehing happen to him where playing in the NBA is no longer the necessity.

Yeah, now that one is sad. I'm sure he didn't want that to end his career, so it must have been some crippling fear.

Didn't know the Kings picked up White for two ten day contracts.
I wonder how good this guy even is. I remember reading during and after the draft about how he was a lottery pick without his personal issues. Then I look at his dleague stats (where any capable player puts up HUGE numbers) and they are shit.
11.4/5.7/3.3 on .444 in 16 games 2 years ago.
8.8/4.3/2.8 on .367 in 4 games last year.
All that trouble for a guy who can't even do shit in the dleague? Wonder what he's doing now.

One of the dumbest people on the planet. Leaving 20 million on the table because he wants to be a professional drug addict. I hope he blows all his money.

anxiety is a real problem.
As a player to his organization and a teammate to his fellow players, he's definitely a bitch.
But I wouldn't attack him as a person or his personal struggles because mental issues are a serious concern.

Then why is he a bitch? You are attacking him personally and you don't even know what's happened. You've filled in the blanks and you've made your own conclusion and are calling him a bitch to his teammates. "Hey I'm not calling him a bitch I'm just saying that if I were his teammate that I'd call him a bitch even though I don't know how his teammates actually feel". Nice work.
This what Royce White shoulda done. Suck it up for a few years then walk away.

He's a bitch for not living up to his contract and still taking $15.2 million from the Bucks, who were very charitable to him. They could use that money for somebody else who actually wants to be there.
If I don't show up to work, no call-no show, I deserved to be called out by my employer and coworkers. I'm doing them wrong because they have to fill my void.

Just because you're short and fat and see the NBA as some unattainable dream, doesn't mean everyone does...see Larry Sanders.
He could have pulled a Bynum and stop giving a **** while still raping teams

I'll say it a million times, they chose to give him that buyout. No one held a gun to their heads.
I'll say it a million times, they chose to give him that buyout. No one held a gun to their heads.
And I'll say it again, they rewarded him for his break out season. That's what most generous teams do and should do. The Bucks are being professionals here and Sanders, well, is being a bitch. And not just to the Bucks and his teammates but to every underpaid NBA player too.
Players like Sanders give GMs and owners more reasons to underpay young players. More reasons to not to give extensions and contracts to players who deserves them.
Teams refusing to give extensions and give max contracts = Cheapskates
Here is a team who rewarded their young center an extension, and it's their fault for doing so.

So Sanders should just fake injuries and play half-assed like a Jerome James instead of doing this?

I respect his honesty, I'll give him that.

Should a Cancer patient suck it up when he/she is in dire need of chemo?
Extreme example I know, but it's this type of reaction/response which continues to minimize the severity of mood disorders such as anxiety and depression

I'm not mad at his hustle at all. Mad props to him for beating office exec's at their own game.
But he seriously can't expect people to feel sorry for him when he's walking away with $15 million.
Why would it? :lol

Of course, I am.
We see those "Would you do (usually something gay) for $_____?" type of threads a lot of times in the OTC.
This dude just got 15 million to do nothing!!! :lol
Sanders might not win another game of basketball but he just won the game of life.

Luckily they live, but shit is srs. He may be at risk for something. He may be bullshitting too. But ill give him the benefit of the doubt.

Good for him, who cares. You get mad at people that win the lottery?

Winning the lottery is different, it's by chance. Sanders played the Bucks...a little different.
I'd be mad if it's the other way around too. Like when Donald Sterling refused to pay a former player for health related issues and his teammates had to pay for it.

He's been in hospital for mental health issues, I'd hold off calling him a bitch unless he signs next year claiming he is cured for a contender\bigger market team. Can't really be mad at him though right now, the team worked out a buy out as per the contract both parties signed.
Somehow depression and anxiety didn't stop him from signing that $44 million contract extension.
This doesn't make any sense whatsoever. One of the problems in this country is people like yourself who brush off mental health like its not a big deal.
I know you have the cure, it's called "Just get over it" right?

I feel bad for all the brothers out there making 7 figures or more. Don't matter what you look like or what you act like, if you making 7 figures you got leeches on you brah and sometimes a nikka feels like he has to buy love. Money makes you second guess your own family brah it ain't easy.
