They're not better scorers, playmakers, defenders, or as efficient... or have as much impact, and pretty sure the Cavs been on 65 win pace since LeBron's return from injury and the trades.

Curry, Harden, and Westbrook all 3 have a better RPM stat than Lebron which shows they do have more impact. Westbrook defense is just as solid as Lebron and hes declining on that end. Harden is probably the best scorer in the NBA right now while Durant is hurt because him healthy would be the best player in the NBA. Lebron is top 5

How are there 3 or 4 guys? LeBron has played more games than Davis, Durant, and Westbrook...

the only ones who would have a chance are Stephen Curry and James Harden.

So, if you go the "what they did this season" route then he's at worst 3.

LeBron is the best player in the league right now by a fair margin. His overall impact on games is still at an all-time level. I say that as someone who has been one of his biggest critics over the years. I never doubted his game, though.

If he has lost anything, it is minimal and made up for in other areas.

At this very moment, I'd go ...

1. LeBron James
2. Kevin Durant
3. Steph Curry
4. James Harden
5. Russell Westbrook

I love Anthony Davis, but I don't think he belongs on this list yet. And, Kyrie is probably my favorite player in the league, but he still has a bit of work to do as well. Easy to forget those guys are 21/22 respectively.

i didnt say anything about 'me' stars. i said 'alltime greats', 'HOFers' in their primes. like in the 90s with jordan, barkley, drexler, shaq, ewing, pippen, robinson, hakeem, etc. all at their peak leading top teams.

Well said! Bron is still the best player in the L. He's the most versatile player of all time in the prime of his career. It's hard to compete with that. In terms of that top five, I think u nailed it. I think Davis is the best big man in the world, but it's hard to argue that top five. And there's no question that the top six players in the world are Bron, Durant, Curry, Harden, Westbrook, and Davis.

Durant has been injured too much although his play has definitely been better than anyone on this list not named Davis when healthy. This isn't the 5 best players in the NBA, but who has played the best THIS season. LeBron has had by far his worst year in a long time this season.
