Putting it that way, I think it's definitely the 80's squad...

Shouldn't repeat players to make it more interesting.

Why is Kevin Garnett starting at SF? And Durant is not starting at the 2 for team 10s?

Malone is a PF and was 2nd to Malone. He was only relevant for barely half of the 90's anyways. Pippen starts at SF. Change it.

Why is Kevin Garnett starting at SF?

Cause he played some SF seasons in 00s and because he was too good to be a bench player just under Duncan. Very similar scenario betwen Chuck and Karl in the 90s. Both Kevin and Duncan have a very similar level of play: Duncan edges in the rebounding, ballhandling, rim protection and post play department; while Garnett edges in the passing, fiinishing, mid range shooting and floor defense department.

Barkley could play SF instead of Pippen during half court situations. Fast pace game, yup...Pippen is the SF.

Then why is Durant not starting at 2 for team 10s? And lol at Kobe being better than Harden or even Wade this decade...And Rose over Curry?

Durant is in the bench as a SF for 10s, he still has not passed Lebron but you a re probably right in the case of Kobe being better than Harden or Wade. :applause:

Durant is very capable of starting at the 2, though. and has played there in his career. much like KG at SF...except his skillset is even more suited to it

True but mostly offensively not so much defensively. Durant will own the late 2010s and early-mid 2020s though...

Late 80's is the pinnacle of the sport. I was raised on 90's (defensive) basketball though, and I like the balance of that team, so I'll take them. That 90's squad is the best defensively of all-time, no doubt about that.

This is stupid.

You need to make realistic "teams" not just all-star squads, cuz that wouldn't be the best possible team. Impossible without knowing the players well though.

For example for the 10's I'd put as the best "team" but not necessarily the best players:

Curry
Durant
James (but basically plays point guard)
Bosh
Gasol

This way Lebron's ball dominant style is complemented by knock down/efficient shooters in Curry, Durant and Bosh. The secondary option of playing through Gasol in the post takes advantage of the cutting etc. The fast break option of Lebron with Curry on a wing and Durant is basically unstoppable. You get at worse 2 points and likely 3 points.

That'd beat every other team (of the 10's) out there because they'd outscore everyone and play the best team ball.

LAZERUSS
02-26-2015, 06:46 AM
Jerry Lucas was basically a PF, ala Kevin Love, and like Love, had legitimate 3pt range ("the Lucas Layup.")

And I would have had Rick Barry as the backup SF (albeit, he only played two seasons in the NBA.)

I would take the 80's team.

IMHO, the most talented era, with the greatest teams.

The Sixers of the first half of the decade; the "Bad Boys" in the last half of the decade; and the Celtics and Lakers in the entire decade.

And those rosters were generally stacked from top-to-bottom, too.

I'm all for the Golden Age but that 2000s team is TOUGH. Bron, Wade, and TMac off the bench? Those three guys had some of the best peaks of all time in those years. And Kidd is the perfect PG to deal with all the commotion. They'd be tough to beat.

I'd pick the 2000s.

For the starting lineup I'd have this:

CP3
Wade
Lebron
Duncan
Shaq

With a bench of:

Nash, Kidd, Kobe, KG, Dirk, Tmac, Ming, Howard.

No one would be able to stop the front court of Peak Shaq and Peak Duncan. Throw in peak KG and 2009 Lebron and it would be scary.

I wonder how the OP's idea of KG as SF would work. If doing that I'd have the following lineup:

CP3
Lebron
KG
Duncan
Shaq

The 2010 team is constructed horribly.
It should be
CP3/Westbrook/Curry
Wade/Harden
Lebron/KD
Bosh/Griffin/Aldridge
Dwight/Marc Gasol/Cousins

Same Thing Many do Putting Bill Russel at PF Having Wilt or Kareem at Center for the All Time Team. I Have No Agenda Since Having Karl Malone and Charles Barkley at Forwards on a Face Paced Breakaway Team....Would Be Insane! (it did happen on the Dream Team sometimes!)

Charles did however play SF from 89-91

I'd have Pippen starting over Chuck at SF because he won rings there and played with Jordan, whereas Chuck played there for 3 years as you say. His best years were at the 4, so I'd put him there.

LeBron would start at SF. The 00s team would be

Kidd (Nash)
Kobe (Wade, Allen)
LeBron (McGrady, Pierce)
Duncan (Garnett, Nowitzki)
Shaq (Yao)

But in terms of chemistry and fit I'd have KG or Dirk starting over Duncan and Pierce starting over LeBron just because Shaq means Duncan and LeBron's games are impacted.
