I am sure they have sold millions of his shoes...but long term I bet they have serious buyers remorse.
From a marketing perspective I don't know how many times you can hype up the return, or the rise or whatever else they try and pump.
I wish they put more effort into making better shoes than pumping out generic ad campaigns over and over.

Even before the injuries that derailed his career, I could tell it was a stupid decision. The guy is bland. Humble, shy, and inarticulate don't sell. They were banking on his continued growth and possibly learning how to work the spotlight later down the road.
