With more points scored too. And more assists. Easily higher efficiency due to skill set, and intelligence.

I'm not even a fan and I'm impressed with Westbrook's production. Even if his game is ugly, intelligence is flawed, punk attitude and sloppy at times. Like when he got ripped up on consecutive plays by Lillard, and Wes Mathews last night.

Chamberlain had 11 in 12 games in '68, including nine in a row, and in the one he missed, he had 9 assists.

Oh, of course. Just look at MJ's scoring and efficiency in the 80's, and then the 90's. Same with Hakeem's. They dropped dramatically in the 90's.

MJ was pulling his individual game back by 1990 to facilitate Pippen's growth, and the fact they were competing for championships. Context please.
There was more focus on defense in the 90's, but you don't think MJ in the 90's is a better player than he was in the 80's? Um, ok.
And even still he put up from 1990 on: 34 ppg, 32 ppg, 30 ppg, 33 ppg in the early 90s. Then came back in '96 at 33 years old and put up 31 ppg.

MJ was a beast! Too bad you're some nerd on a message board and had nothing to do with his success though. Why you livin' through MJ? Get an education and a job then come on here and talk.

MJ had undersized SGs guarding him. Starks and Dumars, very good defenders but they were shorter than him. And Craig Ehlo was a tough defender back then? :oldlol: Imagine what Westbrook would do to Craig Ehlo, he wouldn't need to hit a crazy fadeaway to beat him, he would have 30 by halftime putting him on skates :pimp:
MJ still da goat though.

You named 2x players. And both were beasts defensively, who exceled at stopping dribble penetration. Which is basically Westbrook's entire game since you can't touch anyone now. That and his awkward, ugly pull up jumpers.
And Craig Ehlo was a tough defender back then?
Whoever said Ehlo was the toughest defender MJ faced? LMAO @ you even insinuating Westbrook would destroy any of these guys more than Jordan already did. And when people could actually touch perimeter players.

Man how long are these millennials going to keep holding that L and passing it around until we can actually witness the next GOAT?
I look around at the players of today as I watch the games and I don't see anyone even scratching MJ's alphaness

These old heads holding 26 y/o Westbrook to the same standard in comparison to all-time greats.
This season, Westbrook's per-100 possession stats are only slightly less than peak Jordan's, but Westbrook shoots a whopping 10 percentage points less in FG% - so imagine Westbrook doing everything he's doing now, but only bigger, stronger, much smarter, with the ability to shoot 10 percentage points better and dunk 3 times as much (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352399) - that's Jordan in today's game.
This should not be a surprise - like all players today, Westbrook's paint and at-rim percentages are inflated compared to previous eras, due to the spacing and rule changes designed to (http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/04/09/stujackson/index.html) open up the middle of the floor and make penetration easier.
Otoh, in Jordan's day, defenders waited in the paint on penetration and could help from closer distances on the post because there was no spacing and paint-camping was legal.. all coaches in previous eras foolishly ran offenses that didn't shoot threes and positioned players close to the rim, which activated legal-paint camping, as stipulated in Rule 2b (http://nbahoopsonline.com/History/Leagues/NBA/Rules/Fouls.html) of the Illegal Defense Guidelines - this rule allowed defenders to paint-camp with no time restriction if their man was in the paint already, or within 3 feet of either side.
The tougher paint environment and lack of spacing forced Jordan to make greater plays than Westbrook must make to achieve the same stats, and also make many plays that Westbrook can't do at all.. Comparing MJ's game (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11021030&postcount=6) to Westbrook shows how different their approaches to the game are, and how much more dominant MJ would be in today's game.
