US efforts to increase moderate rebels' influence in Syria have suffered a major setback, as one of the main Washington-supported groups disbanded after suffering a military defeat by al-Qaeda terrorists.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if some of these weapons have tracking beacons installed knowing there was a high chance they'd end up in the wrong hands :lol

Yeah remote detonation is old tech, you would think some of these rockets would be equipped with this.

Or use it to track the terrorists then call in the Warthogs and level the place

Likely, the thing is the US government is not that stupid or that badly informed. They know these weapons will end up with Al-Nusra/IS long before they actually send the weapons. For now at least, the US seems mostly concerned with Assad regaining completely control of Syria, stabilizing the region and remaining a powerful ally of Russia.
You have to understand. A stable, well-faring, secular, modern ME ally of Russia is much worse than an Islamist stink hole engaged in civil war, in the perspective of the US.
