You all know what i'm talking about. I know EVERYBODY is wondering the same thing, so I thought i'd do you losers a favor and ask.

Mavs fans, can y'all chime in on this?

He does this every game, literally every time the camera is on him. Before free throws, after shots, during time outs, when celebrating, on the bench. What the f*ck. It honestly bothers me.

WHY?

Does Dirk Nowitzki have a nervous "tick"? (Serious question)

I don't ask this in some childish Spurs/Mavs rivalry put down manner....he has one particular habit that I have observed for years and am just wondering what it is.

He constantly adjusts the shoulder of his jersey. Like 50,000 times per game. Almost like he is uncomfortable in his own skin.

Example: He will take a shot, make it <right hand to left shoulder of uniform, adjust> then come back on defense, whistle stops play <right hand to left shoulder of uniform, adjust> Spurs hits free throw <right hand to left shoulder of uniform, adjust> Spur hits 2nd free throw, as Dirk turns to go up court <right hand to left shoulder of uniform, adjust> on Spurs end loose ball ref calls jump ball <right hand to left shoulder of uniform, adjust>

Repeat 49,995 times more.

Even on the post game interview stand he seems uncomfortable in his own skin.
"I think we did a good job <fidgets with hair behind ear> of defending the Spurs tonight <fidgets with itch on nose> but Manu was just huge and Duncan was strong <fidgets with ear> and they made a good run in the 3rd <fidgets with shirt collar> then Jason Terry started getting hot and we <fidgets with hair> started a Mavs comeback and knocked the lead down <fidgets wiith eyebrow> but then we had a couple turnovers <fidgets with ear> and Manu hit a couple of 3's <fidgets with hair> and then we just sorta ran out of steam <fidgets with shirt collar> and then the game was over <fidgets with back of neck> we'll have to play with more intensity next time <fidgets with hair behind ear>

I'm just a little observant of this because I sorta used to be like that too.

I think it's a comfort thing that turned into a tick. Like, he used to always adjust his jersey at the free throw line and now it has just become a thing of reputation that I think he does subconsciously

Better question tho. Why does OP always tug my d1ck?

If he don't do it his fadeaways won't drop, it's the deal he made with the devil.

Only real Mavs fans know.

His mother suffered from severe chest pain and eventually lung cancer. She would constantly place her hand on her chest to comfort herself. Dirk is paying respect to her.

as A player - the old uni's were very scratchy and sweat would stick to the body.
I was constantly doing this in High School.

Dirk from europe - I suspect the uni's were old school quality , and that habit lives on.
When I played playground ball - same thing - I tugged from out of habit.
