I dunno about the social aspect Jams. I've read studies that prove a regression in social skills due to social media + technology.

About the glasses, it has evolutionary reason. 20/20 vision is not important for survival and there is several fixes for that so it has passed on to future generations.

yeah, sure, they're able to fix it!
that goes for all the things i mentioned. today, we don't even need to have sex to procreate

i'm not hating. just saying that a lot of the young people are stressed out at an early age.
Number one death cause for young people is suicide.

Not saying you are hating but for some animals if they don't have good eyesight they can't hunt for food, they don't reach the age where they start to procreate and they die. Therefore good eyesight gets passed down.

My eyesight is not a disability. I am good just the way I am.

I love this generation. It is a generation of consumers and lazy individuals which just makes it easier for the few with vision to be successful. Combine that with the abundant opportunities available to make a lot of money, and it is the best time in the history of the Earth to be young.

Is this generation really that lazy though?

100% without a doubt laziest generation in the history of the Earth. But that is only because we have more now with technology and overall standards of living where people can get by in life by doing very little, when it just wasn't possible before.

Can't get much more retarded than the 60s generation, but the youth of today are trying their very best. People need to recognise that pampered and spoiled children don't end up as very impressive human beings.

Being 26 with a bunch of younger cousins in high school, this is what I see as the main differences between our generations.

They seem pretty nice and not as aggressive as we were. Not as competitive or angry. I have even talked to teachers about this and they have said the same thing. And they said the generation before us were even worse than we were.

They do not seem nearly as interested in educating themselves. They are not interested in history, science, etc. There are exceptions for every rule, but just in general.

They take a lot more ownership over new technology, which is to be expected. My 9 year old cousin freaks out when his phone is taken away. It makes sense but it is strange to see when you didnt grow up with a cell phone. But we had computers so that would have been the relevant punishment.

They are not easy to know, if you are not in their circle. We all play basketball together, and I am basically treated like a Sir. They are respectful, nice, but wont joke with me or anything to that degree. They become very gentlemanly around people older than them, or just quiet or reserved. It is weird being older and getting that treatment, because you really do feel like you were their age just yesterday. But to them you are way way older so I guess it makes sense.

They are interested in working and are not super lazy compared to us. I know a lot of them that have jobs in addition to being in high school.

Being smart does not seem like it interests them. Very few of them I would categorize as smart, but they arent dumb either. They are just kind of more interested in social aspects of life. They do well in school but you will never hear them say something that isnt related to hanging out, some game they are playing, some girl they are dating, etc. Maybe that is just a teenager in general thing.
