When Jeff Teague exits the game I really feel like there is no drop off. He does everything so well. Good finisher, good shooter, good passer, good defender, elite athleticism, seems to to rise up in the big moments. I think he could start for a lot of teams and is definitely the best back up PG in the league.

He is definitely top 5. I think he is the type of player that will leave for starting job on a bad team for the chance to prove he is a starter. He can be league average starter for sure.

Bugs the shit out of me that he comes off the bench. Been wanting him on the Bucks since he was drafted, before he established himself. Now his trade value is probably absurdly high.

There's much better a chance of him replacing Teague as the starter eventually. He's only 21 and only slightly worse than Teague already.

He has 1 year experience lol. He doesnt deserve shit yet. Hes a good up and comer but he looks even better with ATL running on all cylinders. Kinda funny just a few months ago people were ripping their success. Very cricket like of recent.

Schroeder correct me if im wrong was comared to as Rondo-Lite?

Teague has paper for the next few years. Unless they trade him, It's going to be several years. Also, you just compared an all star to a backup and said he is almost as good???

I feel he's more of a mesh or Tony Parker and Rondo with better 3 point shooting. Tony Parker in terms of his quickness and finishing ability, Rondo in his length, defense, and passing, and he's just a good shooter. Shooting around 43% from 3 the past two months I think.

Nah. He's not really a higher level player imo.

Fairly inefficient, pretty lousy on defense from what I've seen. The Hawks are +1.2 with him on the floor and +10.1 with him off it. :confusedshrug:

He has had some great moments though. Just needs to do it more consistently and pick his spots better.

I'd say DJ Augustin is at this stage of their careers

Ever think that might be because Teague plays with 3 other allstars and DeMarre Carrol while Dennis plays with Pero Antic, Mike Scott, Kent Bazemore, and another starter usually? Dennis carries our bench a ton of the time.

Completely agree. There was a thread very similar to this one up fairly recently, iirc I had the same concerns as far as his net effect on the team. He's definitely improved from his rookie season but he has a ways to go before he becomes a player with a consistently high impact.

At this stage of his career no, not even close.

However if you watch him play you see him make a lot of passes that almost no other PG's in the league can make. The kind of passes that draw those Rondo comparisons.

Combine that with his improved shooting and very good defense and you can pretty clearly see a guy with the potential to be a star PG in the league.

dennis is getting overrated. he isn able to shoot on a consistent basis around 45 % or so. still a to-machine also

The real answer to this question is Augustin. Augustin is a true backup PG, not a starting PG coming off the bench like Thomas.
