View Full Version : Would LeBron's legacy be better or worse if he spent his career in the West?

yeah, he'd probably make the finals significantly less but there's a good shot he'd beat whatever team came out of the east once he got there.

Instead of 2-5 he would be 0-0.

Would've definitely be harder for him but it sure as hell would be more interesting. I mean the West is interesting enough every year and you add LeBron into the mix? :applause:

It would of been worse for sure Lebron as great as he is would had much tougher competition out in the Western Conference year in and out making the Finals.

It all depends.

In a 5yr span after his rookie year, does LeBron get these 3 guys as teammates?

Player A. All-NBA 1st team rookie, 3X all-star and 3x all NBA second team?
Player B. 2X All-NBA defensive first team and B2B blocks leader?
Player C. 1x all-NBA rookie second team, 1x all-star and 6th man of the year?

2 titles in those 5yrs alone

What if the team he was on in the West was the Spurs instead of Leonard?

Spurs didn't have bad records to have a pick to draft Lebron. Maybe if the Nuggets won the lottery in 2003 and then he would have basically the teams Melo had.

He probably wouldn't have 5 finals appearances but he'd beat whoever came out of the East whenever he did make it. Would he still have two rings? Tough to say, but one or two still seems like a reasonable estimate to me (1/1 or 2/2, maybe 1/3 or 2/3 instead of 2/5 though).

To give a proper answer we'd have to know which team he'd be on.

Put LeBron on any of the top 8 teams on the West and they instantly become title favorites. That is what is always lost in these hypotheticals: LeBron would be in the stacked West presumably on a good team since most teams in the West are solid. With LeBron any 45 win team becomes a title contender. If he is on a team with scrubs that would be like Cleveland from 2004-2010.

Neither did the heat. Unless you mean if he never played in cleveland first.
