If he keeps progressing at his current rate he'll be knocking out triple triple games in no time.

I hope he can keep it up. There is always the fear that he is a flash in the pan. Teams do not generally miss superstar potential. Why was this guy never heard of until a few months ago?

Rooting for him to be great.

This guy has been amazing! Makes you wonder what could have been if he had been on the team when Lebron was still in Miami! Because a guy like him was exactly what Miami was missing back then.

It's mind boggling that this kid comes up in Miami and they're still complete dogshit.

Even without Bosh they should be 10 wins better than they are.

PER is based on production per minutes. That's the biggest point to it. Hard to compare 22 mpg to 36 mpg.

What he does can't really be schemed against.

A guard I would worry about.

No. Nothing about his game suggest this. It's not like he is an offense juggernaut

He might start getting hack a shaqed though

He's not a rookie. Beast stats for a big usually comes with wins. :confusedshrug:

If he keeps this up through the rest of the season, the playoffs, and next season than he'll probably be the best center in the league. Top 3 at least. I'm impressed with him. When he was rotting on the Kings (Kings gonna Kings) bench I felt he should have played.

I do not agree with this at all. What Whiteside is doing right now is incredible and if he can continue to do it for the rest of his career it will be even more incredible.

The Kings drafted him very early in the 2nd round on potential only and proved that he wasn't ready for the NBA which he proved in the minimal games he played and also in the D-League where he didn't shine like a NBA caliber player should. Add injury and they were with total reason to eventually waive him. AT the time it was just another case of a center who has potential but can't play which we see ALL the time but all credit to Whiteside on realizing his potential and working on and improving his game.

So if he was playing Lebron minutes and put up 20/20/5 blocks on 60%, you would say the same thing?

Of course that's if Whiteside could keep up that level of play for over 36 minutes consistently. PER can't take that sort of thing into account.

I like the guy, and it seems like he really worked on his game since Marshall, but yeah, he does have some Michael Olowokandi/Erick Dampier-like scares to him.

PER is a stat to show efficiency, not overall greatness.

You would think people would get that since PER stands for Player Efficiency Rating, but apparently not.

With George Karl you just may see them in the hunt.
