View Full Version : Who is your pick for this year MVP?

Seriously, I think Westbrook is the best player in the NBA right now statistically but he probably won't win because of his team record. Also, LeBron probably won't win it either because at this point Curry and Harden is more valuable than him. If i have to bet, I would put my money on Curry just because he is the best player on the best team at this point.

However, the above is just my opinion. Feel free to comment.

Who's going to win? Curry or Harden.

Who's the actual MVP? LeBron.

Westbrook might take it, he has all the momentum.

You don't win MVP as an 8th seed, even if you deserve it. Not that he does, because he doesn't. But that's just how the voters vote... and for that reason if no other, he will not win.

Westbrook isn't winning shit because OKC won't even get a top 4 seed.

He's the best player sure, but, ISH made it clear record natters when Houston was hanging around the #5/#6 slot.

It could change this year.

Curry is my pick. Harden is the only one I think should be in contention with him.

If OKC can grab the 5th seed in the West I'm giving it to WB...but Curry deserves it for now.

Curry right now BUT if Westbrook keeps up this pace we might see voters change from the traditional the best player on one of the best teams scenario we've come to know

Yeah I think so. Not taking anything away from LeBron, he's still the best player but his team is actually playing some good team ball right now. Rockets will be god knows where without Harden and Warriors just look like night and day without Curry.

My picks would be
1. Stephen Curry
2. James Harden
3. Russell Westbrook
4. LeBron James (Let's be real here, he doesn't need anymore MVPs just start getting more rings + finals MVP)

I am one of Hardens biggest haters, but this year, he is the MVP. What hes done this year is insane, he's been the most important player on that squad by a mile.

after last night's games the race is tied with harden & lebron. curry is 3rd, followed by westbrook. the teams record will have a major role between harden and lebron tho.

Neck and neck between Westbrook and Kyrie at this point.

It'll be Curry or Harden. If Westbrook and Lebron play every game for the rest of the season, Westbrook will have played 67 games and Lebron will have played 71 games. I believe Allen Iverson played the least amount of games, 71, to win MVP since Bill Walton won it back in the 70s. On top of that, there teams' records won't be that great. Cavs have the 10th best record in the league and the Thunder have the 12th best record in the league.

Basketball-reference.com has an MVP tracker that's based on previous voting results. Chris Paul is actually ahead of Westbrook and Lebron right now. Curry is 1st and Harden is 2nd. I would trust their judgment.

If Westbrook is a candidate for MVP then Davis has to be one too. His team is 0.5 games behind OKC, his stats are comparably crazy to Westbrook's, and he's played 3 more games than Westbrook.

In saying that, I think Curry deserves the award most.

This
Harden shouldn't get the MVP, he's already horrible in the playoffs, having the MVP will put too much pressure in his tiny head.

So Anthony Davis could end up with a 31+ PER and not be MVP.

I think the top 3 of Curry, Harden and Westbrook are basically interchangeable, any of them could win it at this point. Right now I would probably pick Harden, but it's really close.

Lebron and Davis are 4th and 5th.

MVP - most valuable player - is a bit of a subjective thing. If you asked around though; which one player would you take in your team for this season I'm fairly sure the almost unanimous choice would still be Lebron. On both sides of the ball he is still the MVP.

Curry, but it depends how Top5 candidates finish. Westbrick or Haren can easily win as well, Lebran's chances are a bit lower but he also can dominate enough to be picked.

I don't get this notion that Lebron is the clear cut favorite or even the runner up. The Cavs didn't start balling til they added a few more pieces to strengthen their defense and add alittle scoring.

Harden and Curry have been the real Mvps, Westbrook is third in that convo.

Also if WB can't be considered because of record then I need to hear a good argument for why a tenth seeded Team is an achievement by comparison.

It's between Curry and Harden. I believe Harden is more deserving, but Curry has all the factors that will give him the MVP.
