Boxing is back in a big way, on network TV in prime time this weekend!!! Not only in the ring, but on the sidelines also. Big names calling these fights. Marv Albert, Sugar Ray Leonard, Laila, Al Michaels and BJ Flores. And big names in the ring. This is what boxing needs. All the other major sports are on betwork television besides boxing.

Broner came in 1 pound over the weight limit. They're showing the weight in on NBC Sports Net.

Who you got tonight kizzle?

I got Thurman by KO (ima call 5th round?) and Broner by decision
No, Thurman will win but not by knockout.
Broner has a better chance at a knock out to be honest. But I see neither getting knockout though Molina and Guerrero will hit the canvas at least once.

If Thurman hurts Guerrero enough to drop him, hes either knocking him out cold after that or the ref stops it.

Molina looks scared of Broner's power right now. Broner sitting on punches, juicing or is Molina shook

Molinas corner tells him to go for the knockout in round 12 and he barley throws anything.

Thought they were gonna get the Molina from the Lucas fight. They got the one from the Mickey Bey fight minus the last 39 seconds of that fight.

This fight reminded me of that Danny Garcia-Zab Judah fight from a few years back. Robert went down mid fight like Zab, but came back the final three rounds.

Pretty good ratings last night.

I think the ratings will only get better.

I thought Thurman looked great considering his opponent. In the lead up people were talking about Guerrero like he was a push over, like Thurman was picking him for an easy knockout, and I didn't understand that at all. Guerrero has always been a fantastic fighter and warrior, is southpaw and has never been stopped, so Thurman handled him well. The only other guy to dominate him like that was Floyd.

Thurman has brutal thudding power, but he does get visibly uncomfortable on the inside and he does get discouraged when he hits a guy hard and they don't go anywhere. He definitely needs to add a jab to his arsenal because a lunges way too much. Overall, Thurman is a great young fighter and one of the top guys at WW, now I'd love to see him go against another one of the division's elite like Khan, Maidana, Brook, Porter, ect. I think a match with JMM would be very interesting and a great test to see what Thurman could work against an elite counter puncher.

Hopefully but for comparisons, UFCs first show on Fox did 3.1 rating compared to 0.9 for PBC. Crazy how popular UFC is.

The first show was interesting. First fight was a dud because Molina didn't come to fight. Thurman-Guerrero was good though. The only thing I didn't like is that it seemed like they were trying to clean up boxing for NBC. Like make it a PG version. No ring card girls, they stripped down the entrances, which brings a lot of excitment for fights. Entrances felt generic. You can tell they told Broner to tone in down lol.

But all in all, it was a good start. As long as there is at least one competitive fight on each show, I can't complain.

That mic pull was hilarious.

NBC Exec: "If he starts talking ignorant, you cut that interview fast"

Reporter: "Sure thing, boss"

Everywhere I read it said it got a 3.13 rating. Where is this 0.9 coming from?

Also, I think that UFC show was for the Heavyweight Championship. Plus went head to head with Duke-North Carolina. Thurman is basically an unknown headlining. Broner is somewhat known, but he was fighting John Molina. Had Broner fought Matthysee or Danny Garcia. ...

Deontay Wilder will be on NBC in the coming months.

3 million viewers and the rating are separate numbers but the same. 3.13 million viewers is 0.9 or 1.0 rating.
