So, our GOAT MJ reincarnated in the form of GOATbrook? So now does that now make Durant... Pippen? The second fiddle and the servant? Ibaka...Rodman?

Truth about NBA media is they compare current players to all the legends even though very few superstars today have done jack sh*t as far as winning.

We're hyping guys that have never won championships. Westbrook, Rose(the one time he was healthy), Curry.

Dirk and Duncan are champions. These new guys don't deserve to be held so highly until the win something.

His basketball spirit not his physical body, like how the monstars can zap the playing ability from the legends...:pimp:

True, the MVP and Finals MVP count confirms it

LOL, every year a dude has a hot streak, he gets compared to the GOAT.

Remember when they were comparing Durant to MJ when he went on his streak?

Statistically, Durant's last regular season is very comparable to Jordan's best.

Last year it was his teammate who is now washed up and forgotten. The year before that it was LeBron, couple of years before that it was Bean, before that Grant Hill was the next MJ, before him Harold Miner was the next great one.

Rinse and repeat, often imitated never duplicated. Next year: James Harden da GOAT. Can't wait.

Westbrook has already failed to be Jordan's equal. Russ had a good enough team to get to the finals and he and his team lost. He is 0-1.

How the fvck is he ever going to be 6-6 if he's already 0-1.

Pay attention in math class kids.

It's a team game dummy. Dirk didnt win something til he was like 33. Was he jack shit as a player every year before that?

Youre retarded.

This season, Westbrook's per-100 possession stats are only slightly less than peak Jordan's, but Westbrook shoots a whopping 10 percentage points less in FG% - so imagine Westbrook doing everything he's doing now, but only bigger, more powerful, much smarter, with the ability to shoot 10 percentage points better - that's Jordan in today's game.

And we've tracked down dunk data from the 80's and 90's (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352399) from old Philadelphia 76'er media guides - they show that MJ, Dr. J, Dominique, and Drexler (along with Durant and Lebron from today's era) are the only wing players in history that routinely dunked over 100 times per season (as much as big men).

Westbrook, Kobe, McGrady and Paul George dunk only half or even a third as often - they don't combine sufficient power to go along with their hops (the dunk stats of today's players are on basketball-reference.com).

Comparing MJ's game (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11021030&postcount=6) to Westbrook shows how different their approaches to the game are, and how much more dominant MJ would be in today's game.

Westbrook's athleticism is inferior to Jordan's.. his skill and shooting ability is a fraction of Jordan's, and his smarts are dimensions below Jordan.. this means Jordan would be bigger today than he ever was.

If u dont even have 1 damn ring you should never be in the same breath (when talking about overall greatness) as jordan.

Talking bout short time frames of great play that players have gosh:facepalm

deja vu

Westbrook's been playing on prime MJ level the past few games. Too bad he was injured early in the season or he would have run away with the MVP. If he can achieve team success I can see him as a top 10 GOAT in the end.

why isn't he being compared to Lebron? Isn't Lebron the goat?

http://forum-images.hardware.fr/images/perso/5/calimefrog.gif

Dat moment you realize that some guy playing out of his mind gets compared to someone that played 20 years ago, and not to your idol that plays now.

:facepalm @ people bringing up rings. Did you all even watch the video?

The question was about being compared to MJ and Oscar Robertson "statistically". Therefore it was obviously in regards to the recent triple double run. The comparison to MJ and Oscar Robertson was perfect considering neither of those players had any championships while they had their dominant triple double runs. As far as MJ is concerned, wasn't his team barely playing .500 ball during his triple double streak?
