To build your franchise around? Let's say current Brook vs PGs as they were at 26.

Just curious as to how many it would be.

obviously not Magic Johnson since Westbrick has a higher PER than him thus Westbrook > Magic.

For sure:

Magic
Isiah
CP3
Kidd
Gary Payton
Stockton
Rose (if he never got hurt)
Steph Curry

Maybe:
Walt Frazier
Kevin Johnson
Dennis Johnson
John Wall (still has 2 years to improve until 26)
Dame Lillard (same as Wall)

Tried to leave out tweeners like Penny, Iverson, etc.

I hope no one says Oscar, Pistol, etc... People don't get the idea that humans EVOLVE. They would get absolutely obliterated in today's NBA. They're all time greats but let's leave him in the past where he belongs. This discussion should be only for modern NBA

I'm not sure about Nash over Westbrook to start a franchise with. Nash on the right team, okay. But if I start with nothing, I want a guy like Westbrook.

That's what I was expecting. Not sure about some of these other dudes. Now if you already have a team, then a Price or Nash might be a better fit.

Robertson, Magic, Jerry West, Archibald, Frazier to name a few off the top of my head. Maybe Isiah.

This isn't easy for me to answer because a lot of players (Westbrook included) can't be pigeon holed by position.

Jerry West played point guard too for example, not just shooting guard, he's more traditionally referred too as a shooting guard but I'd take him over Westbrook at the point guard spot in a heartbeat. I don't even care about point guard/shooting guard monikers to be honest, the label specifics don't matter because every player is unique.

Then you've got players that just played a totally different brand of ball from the 1-spot, like Bob Cousy, Steve Nash, John Stockton. They don't play like Westbrook from a dominance stand point but they seem to better understand who to feed the ball when and why. Depending on the team, that might be more helpful.
