I wonder what Chris Paul's shooting chart looks like when Blake and Deandre are on the floor?

Dude gets so overlooked. He's putting up like 20/4/13 since Griffin has been out

Paul and Davis are great at getting open mid range jump shots.

How is he overrated? He's the picture of elite consistency but no one talks about him at all..

he doesn't provide the impact you need to advance far in the playoffs.

not really a fault of him though, what 6'0 player in NBA history can say that they did provide that type of impact?

His size is a limiting factor for sure and is one reason why teams bet on physical freaks to become superstars. It'd help him immensely if the Clippers had a more viable offensive wing threat that required a large defender's attention. Reddick plays his role exceptionally well, but he's an off-ball C&S guy. You don't need to stick your best defender on him. Barnes is mostly a spot up shooter, so you can hide somebody on him. DJ tumbles into paint for lobs and putbacks. Griffin's worked hard to expand his role but every team can still throw their biggest/best wing defender at CP3 to neutralize him.

I'm a little surprised that Pau's mid range game ticked up so much this year. Isn't he up like 5% compared to last season? Figured with cramped spacing when playing with Noah and such a heavy minutes load it wouldn't improve by that much. Also, Anthony Davis is an absolute monster and I can't wait to see him in the playoffs.

Edit:

Iverson...
Good point, though he had a team built around his strengths. I also bet if CP3 started out in the Eastern Conference he'd have made a few conference finals, if not a Finals by now. I think his New Orleans squads could have made some noise out East (not to mention the current Clippers).

That's why we need the new playoffs format ASAP!

My god AD

If he develops a three point shot, what on earth is going to happen to this league?

that would help against some teams but teams like golden state have 5 different guys that are great wing defenders. he just can't dominate the ball on every possession in the playoffs, it will never work.

That's basically true, but how many teams have 5 great wing defenders, who to boot, all can contribute in some way offensively. Iggy's offense is declining, but the Warriors are really stacked on the perimeter. Granted, Clips beat the Dubs sans Bogut just last spring, but imo Draymond wouldn't have started, or gotten close to as many minutes, if Bogut was healthy, mostly due to Mark Jackson's coaching. He really stretched out the Clippers defense, to the point that they barely could guard them.

Having a legit 2-way wing player would give them some edge, which they kinda need. They have the best starting 5 in the league (by net rating), questionable coaching tactics with Gentry gone, an underwhelming bench, and the only 2 real creators on the perimeter on that team are CP3 and Crawford. I think the currently constructed roster peaks as a second round exit, with maybe a fluke WCF run, given the depth of the West.

Can we get Thibs in New Orleans, with Ron Adams & D'Antoni? Unless they get both Gentry & Adams from GSW, I think that's as good a coaching staff for AD that they can get this summer. Monty's out this summer and he hasn't done this squad too many tactical favors.

Always skeptical of when bigs stretch out to the 3pt line because you tend to see them end up falling in love with the long ball (at the cost of their effectiveness).
