recently there have been talks about how lebron isn't the mvp of the league. the top 4 mvp candidates to this date are: lebron, curry, harden and westbrook (in no order).

yesterday:
lebron puts up 27 pts (very efficent 10-14 shooting), 7 rebs, 8 assists 1 steal 1 block in only 29 minutes of playing time, while blowing out an elite team in dallas.

today:
harden puts up 18 pts on 19 shots (7-19 shooting) in a losing effort to portland and almost got carried by his bench player.

curry puts up 9 pts on 15 shots (4-15 shooting) in a winning effort to a lottery team and got carried by his team mates (showing how stacked his team really is).

westbrook puts up 24 pts on on 5-14 shooting (11-13 freethrows) in a losing effort to the clippers along with 10 turnovers and got completely outplayed by chris paul.

so it's safe to say lebron is still in the mvp race and it's fair to say he's the current mvp after tonight's set of games.

how does curry have the mvp locked up? he's arguably not even the mvp of his team. on top of that, his numbers aren't that special.

You're not winning an MVP if your team has the 8th best record in the league. Lebron is a "candidate", but he has virtually no shot to win it unless Cavs damn near run the table.

Lmao, Curry is by far the best player on the Warriors and his numbers are outstanding. 23/4/7/2 with a TS% of 62.

This shit is over, better luck next Bran stand.

This. If you're putting up those kind of numbers on the team with the top record in the league, you're winning MVP.

how is james harden's 27-7-6 on 60% TS not better than that while carrying players who would come off the bench for warriors to 50+ wins.

he has to do something better than harden at least. lebron and durant posted legendary stats.
lebron had monster stats in cleveland when he won in 09 and 10.
there are only 2 players in the league who could probably lead a team like houston to 50+ wins and they are durant and lebron. curry isn't carrying an average team to 50+ wins. he doesn't have the stamina to do it.

Curry stats per 36 minutes

48/42/90 on 26/5/8/2

Lebron stats per 36 minutes

49/34/71 on 26/5.5/7/1.5

Harden per 36 minutes

44/37/86 on 27/5.5/7/1

Even on stats, Curry is ahead of Lebron. Better percentages which is remarkable considering Lebron gets more of his shots inside.

Harden is pretty close to Curry in the total averages, but behind on percentages, while also an inferior team record.

I'm still wondering where Harden's Stats leave Curry a distant second again?

:oldlol:

first of all. per 36 stats are for idiots.
use actual stats. curry looked gassed in every 4th quarter in previous playoffs when he had to play heavy minutes. he is not even 30.
playing big minutes and not looking spent is a good thing.

here is the comparison between warriors bench and rockets starters:
livingston= beverly(i think livingston is better but you can have this)
Iguodala>Jones
lee = Motiejunas
barbosa<ariza

klay, green, bogut, barnes are so much superior to rockets starters that it is not even comparable.
i can understand curry being favorite to win if harden rockets were 8th seed but they are 4th seed on pace to win 53 games.

I despise James Harden, but the dude is in front of Curry for the MVP. So fking awkward seeing stans say Curry's running away with it like it isn't close.

Curry is the least "valuable" to his team between Harden and Lebron.
