Daylight savings time is one of the best things to happen. From the little history I know of it, the reason why we set our times forward because of activities after work. When you get off of work at 5pm it is usually dark. By setting it forward it allows people to pursue their activities after work.

Also, it helps the farmers. Back in the days of farming, when it gets dark, the farmer would call it a day. By setting the time forward it would allow for more sunlight for industrial workers and farmers. It is sort of how America was built on. That is why we are considered hard workers.

Arizona doesn't practice this, from my knowledge, is the demographics. There are nothing but deserts out their in Arizona and they would not benefit from it. So they roll all year round with the same time.

Its just a part of the year in some countries when everyone turns back their clock for an hour and it saves more daylight.

I don't expect a guy that doesn't know what it is to understand what I'm explaining.

They set it forward not backward unless that is how you do it in NZ.

Just seems weird to me. Trying to control time and daylight. What will these American fiends think of next.

For example, back in the days before lights, in your case (flood lights), how would you watch an Arsenal football game after getting off work?

It is done so we can watch our baseball (American game) before flood lights were installed. That little extra hour goes a long way.

It's not done for sporting reasons but you get the point.

That I don't know.

I guess for the same reasons. When it gets dark, people go home. When there is light, they party longer.:confusedshrug:

We also have it in Europe. But to us it is going to happen in about two weeks.

When I was in highschool, day light saving time was the biggest bitch ever man. Usually woke up at 6:30 AM to get ready, with the daylights savings time you wake up at 5:30 AM.

Takes a few days to adjust.

They set the clock forward in spring.

Then around winter they set it backward.

What did he say wrong?

I like that brief period when the US clocks change before Europe and i get to watch bball games at more reasonable times for a couple of weeks.

lol, it is strictly because of farming, not because of "activities after work." Daylight saving should be a thing of the past. Farmers can make their own hours.

He said they don't set it back implying every year we just go another hour farther on the clock

daylight savings time actually hurts businesses and thus the economy. Plus no one likes it when you move the clock forward and have to go to work on Monday with 1 hour less sleep. It sucks and should get rid of it. Arizona already got rid of it...
