True story but I'l preface it by saying I don't gamble so I don't know all the terms used so give me some slack on that

Back in the 90's my dad loved betting on NFL games, he had been in vegas filling out all his cards on the games made a bunch of other bets like he'd do and one of them was a package deal of some kind, you had to bet on 10 games happening in one day but they didn't all have to be NFL games..

so he bets 8 NFL games and 2 NBA games, he doesn't follow the NBA but he knows Lakers and he knows they're good and so he does a little research, bets the under on their game.. i forget the actual number

back in town he's over at my house for a BBQ that sunday night, he's won the first 9 bets of the day.. all he needs is the under on the spread of that lakers game to go his way and he's got his 10 wins

like i said i forget the number but i remember telling him it was too low, the two teams would easily score that many points but i was wrong... it was a lower scoring game mostly because the lakers were killing the other team and most the scrubs for both sides were in during the 4th..

so the games winding down 5 seconds left dad's going to get the under by one point, Elden Campbell has the ball dribbling the clock nobody is guarding him and at the one second mark from nearly half court just for the fun of it he lazily slings up a flat footed hook shot that swishes the net...:roll: :roll: :roll:

oh god... i'm dying, i'm laughing so hard.. my dad is so mad at Campbell he effing breaks my coffee table by stomping on it:lol the dog's so scared he goes into witness protection in my bedroom

dad doesn't stop griping about that for the rest of the night, elden this that stupid campbell that... beer after beer till mom finally dragged him home..

next day we're laughing about it and i ask him how much he would have won... "bout 75 bucks, i only bet 5, you can never win on those gimmicky things"... lol
