Recreation of a thread of mine, inspired by all the fight threads.

1 Fight. Basketball court setting. No Weapons. Who is the one person in history you got your money on? The one guy who you would want to have your back? The one guy who will come up on top and not get his ass kicked. I'll list some of the top options, if you don't know who any of these guys below are you should ask/look-up.

Its a street fight, Sugar Ray could not hang with these guys. Come on. Not askning for who is the pound for pound best fighter, or who has the best fighting success for their weight....but if there is a fight fight, who wins.

Kimbo Slice.
No. With no weapons, how would Kimbo be able to even hang with Jon Jones, The Spider, or Fedor?

But you are right, he deserves a mention.

Street brawl I'm taking Fedor. Size, punching power, good chin......
Sambo would probably be the most effective style for a street brawl.
I'd also consider a prime Cro Cop or Chuck Liddell

Well if there is no weight limit you're essentially making me pick a 200+ fighter. I would go with Fedor or Jones probably.

Under 200lbs give me GSP.

The most impressive thing about the Karelin Lift is he was doing it to 300 pounders (like the dude in that pic).

He could spin Silva on his index finger like a basketball.

First of all, Boxers i wouldnt call fighters (nor kung fu, karate, tkd etc. masters)... Boxers Box... they dont kick, knee, elbow, grab eachother and throw to ground, break arm, legs, choke and so on and so on..... "MMA" is very literally FIGHTING, thats how Fighting goes down... the only thing you cant do is gauge somebodies eyes out, bite... and oh kick the babymaker... Sure some Boxer's look like they could fight a FIGHT, hypothetically.... but thats as far as it goes...

Of all the sports/martial arts Wrestlers is what i think would have the best chance against "MMA" fighters (screw "MMA", its FIGHTING with some minor rules really), because Wrestling is the most important/vital deciding factor in a real fight.... you decide completely where the fight is gona go if wrestling is your big advantage.... a guy like Karelin will bulldoze charge Tyson 100mph to the ground and then GnP the crap out of him, the only thing he would manage is a single haymaker attempt anywhere else but the chin before he gets plowed into a fetal position down there like he is being mauled by a Grizzly Bear or something....

Anyways, Prime Emilianenko is the best FIGHTER i ever seen.... mentally & skillwise the best ever and has the most ridicilous chin / pain tolerance i ever seen, he fought any class... you aint gona submit him & you aint gona KO prime Emilianenko... Been watching "MMA" since day 1, since it was completely illegal just to view the illegal VHS tapes... he was truly the best, "trust me" is overused yea but really... trust me...

Come on man... have you really seen prime Fedor enough? He had absolutely zero weakness, he had everything and all that "everything", striking, technique, IQ, wrestling, BJJ, judo, defense standing or on ground, everything could be compared with the best of the best ever at his size who even specalize on any of those facets, he was that good..... and had something you couldnt teach eather, a CHIN & Heart... Striking Silva wouldnt have any advantage first of all... Fedor was even smarter/technical there and considering Fedors chin/pain tolerance (something Silva does not have) and size advantage & all he could let Silva kick/punch with his stick limbs if he wants... Fedor would immediately exploit Silva's biggest weakness more than any guy on earth, Grappling/Wrestling/Ground...

...and as good / smart BJJ guy Silva was to defend himself with him on the back FEDOR was even greater even there and on top will NOT let Silva get away with it (see Sonnen)....

In his prime, in a regulated fight sure. In a street fight Bas wipes his ass :oldlol: On Silva vs Fedor.. Fedor would own him like a chump. Just as skilled, mentally tougher, more decisive and BIGGER!!

But what would happen if Karelin bulldozes at Fedor? I mean you always talk about what a big advantage size is in a fight, what happens if Fedor even fights Wilt Chamberlain and that outrageous reach or 500lb Andre the Giant who has a wrestling foundation? Will he be able to overcome hundreds of pounds?

Since this fight is taking place in a basketball court, I'd not count Anderson Silva out. He'd need to take the strategy of evading the bigger guys and landing low kicks all day long. I'd say it would be pretty hard for anyone catching Silva on a basketball court and his stamina should be better than the bigger guys.

The bigger guys aren't going to waste their energy chasing Silvia all around the court. At the end of the day, the fighting area will be pretty small. And by your logic, couldn't Bruce Lee do the same thing to Silva, no one has the stamina and speed he has.

Tbh, I think the Gracies would fair well against Silva.

Bruce lee's leg is short, he's too light and his ability in real fight is highly questionable.

I don't rule out that Fedor could beat Silva, but it would be due to weight advantage, I believe prime Silva is more skilled, smarter, etc.

Prime Silva vs prime Fedor is a fight I would love to see but can only imagine. I don't doubt that either is capable of taking a win from the other. Probably would just be a matter of who is more on their game that day.

Um thats kind of an insult to Fedor. Fedor just didn't have a strong wrestling background. As someone else mentioned, he was an expert in multiple areas and overall VERY skilled.

Anyone think it would be a good idea I started a "Fighting Tournament" series of threads, where initially we have 16 fighters, and then I create individual threads for each fight (or maybe round) and we narrow it down? Seems like there are so many different answers around here

His striking wasn't anything special, tbh. He's above average by MMA standards, but a good heavyweight boxer (nevermind Ali, Foreman, etc) would murder him in a striking match, for example.

Fedor was a GOAT-level grappler with decent striking That's what made him formidable.
