Lol.

The ball was coming at him and he put his hand up as to not get hit in the face by a ball.

Nothing more. Nothing less. It's called a reflex.

Lebron's reaction was priceless though. I'd love to see him in a supermarket if someone accidentally jostled him and caused him to drop a gallon of milk in front of an employee.

Yeah, I watched it live, and when LBJ got all pissed over it I was like wtf u want the fan to do? Let the ball hit him in the face? Blame the NBA for making all the cameramen and fans sit so damn close. Every game you see a player leap onto a fan and spill beer everywhere. Lol

And here's Simon, low-key praising/clowing some anonymous, alleged beta, because the dude has the stones to actually leave his abode and step out into the the glimmer of day-to-day reality by going court-side for a game, instead of sitting at his pc, waiting for one of his multiple personalities (Simon) to come assert himself on the board, while he tells himself he has friends. :lol

I don't understand in that situation why isn't it just a jumpball? Why is it just give the ball to the Cavs in that situation?

Does anyone know this rule? The refs said fan interference and just gave the ball to Cleveland after Lebron complained. It should just be jump it up.

this. its ****ing ridiculous, in good time someone will get seriously hurt be it a spectator, cameraman or player. My bet is a player getting a serious head injury from a camera.

Also you'd have to think having people so close to the floor would take away from the freedom in which players can play. Sure some will have no hesitations just going for a ball and letting the fans be their cushion but surely not every player is that reckless and has the well being of other people in their mind somewhat in which case they may not do certain things such as going all out for a ball about to leave the field of play.

I'm not sure if there is an actual fan interference rule in the NBA. I know that it's a big deal in baseball but I've never heard of the NBA having an equivalent.

That said, I remember watching a video recently (iirc it was Phoenix during Nash's tenure, they were visitors somewhere) where a fan knocked the ball away and it was awarded to the away team on the sideline. A jump ball might be a better way to do things but awarding it to the away team sounds like an attempt to force the home team to keep their courtside fans in check.

that's the bitch that kept T-ing people up before.

I dunno... LeBron does tend to do annoying things, but I can't get mad at him over this. The guy (fan) probably feels mad embarrassed over it.

Should've been a jump ball. Bron never had control of it, and even if he did he could have easily thrown it in to a Magic player. Imagine something like this happening late in a Playoff game. The shitstorm would be hilarious.

so a player saw the chance to get a play called in his favor going by the rule boook and everyone here is mad?
wtf is wrong with this forum? Also, they showed the replay and by the rule book, it was the right decision. even magic commentators didn't feel it was wrong.

I more so Interpret it as not quite knowing what to do at that time.. the ball is coming at him, in the back of his head he sees a fan giving the Player when it goes out of bounds, without even quite realizing yet that it didn't go out of bounds yet, and then when he did he shied away real quick hah.

The **** are you guys watching? Protecting himself from the ball? It's not like the ball was flying at him, it was BOUNCING to him. He could of caught it instead of slapping it away, which was an interference no matter how you look at it.

Not to mention you see his extended arm, and the fact he slaps it away when Lebron already pretty much as control of the ball. Yeah Lebron's wants to get the call to his favor, and rightfully so.

The game has been over a while now. Your team lost and it wasn't because of that one call. They were clearly outmatched.
