Players logged an assist for a "pass-to-free throw" like in FIBA play?

they should credit assists for that

.5 per ft, and if it's a 3 pointer they could either just not do it, or limit it to one assist if all 3 are made

Idk about half an assist though man.

I like the idea, I was just thinking that back in the day they used to get assists for this and people are telling me I'm tripping.

the half is if a person makes one out of two FTs, if he makes them both it would be a regular assist

If he makes nothing, well that would count as nothing

I like the idea for sure, maybe it's just me, but a half an assist would be weird.

You don't get more assists for a 3 pointer, so why would you get less for a one point shot? If your pass leads to a score in any manner you have assisted in scoring. I think you should get a whole assist for a f/t.

I don't like it because assist numbers will be very much inflated. It will only complicate things. I do agree though it is unfair when someone finds a teammate wide open for a layup and the other team fouls on purpose to prevent a layup, but that's life.

That's why I made this thread. I thought people used to get assists for that thusly Magic and Stock have inflated numbers.
