I'm thinking his sources are either yahoo sports or rotoworld. No one wants to give this guy the scoop.

This has been the campaign of the injury. Hopefully his sauces are accurate and Serge can haul his ass back for the playoffs.

Oklahoma City is done and has no realistic chance of making any type of championship run this season. They have simply run out of time, which unfortunate because they may be the most talented team in the league.

KD is still at least another week or two away from returning, at least according to their radio announcer last night Matt Pinto, and Ibaka is likely out for a minimum of the next three or four weeks with surgery today. There just isn't enough time for them to get healthy, reestablish their peak efficiency before the playoffs, KD to integrate with their new teammates, and then face a team as good as Golden State in the opening round of the playoffs.

It's possible they don't even make the playoffs now. What is helping them the most is the fact that New Orleans is almost as banged up as they are with two starters still out themselves.

^ Pretty much. Just too many injuries this year for OKC. It's going to take a huge effort just to make the playoffs with Durant and Ibaka out, then these guys all haven't even payed together yet and they have to go in and play the first seed? Nah. Too difficult a road to the finals with a team that will have not played together and be fully in form.

If the Thunder won the championship this year, it would be the greatest run in the history of the NBA. We're talking about winning FOUR 7-game series, all without HCA, in arguably the most stacked Conference in the history of the sport. On top of that, all 3 of the teams top players will have missed significant time with injuries, and the team will have made significant roster changes mid-season.

Serge Ibaka had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee this morning. Expected to miss 4-6 weeks, Sam Presti announces.
We good, it's cool. No worries. Serge is a warrior. He'll be back for the playoffs (if we make it)

Durant will automatically be the GOAT if/when it happens.

RIP OKC.

The biggest "what ifs" in recent NBA history. You will be missed.

Or not.

The reason Ibaka didn't play through the pain was because the swelling and stiffness in that knee was getting worse, and his knee wasn't plateauing, even after having his knee drained and addressing the injury with medication. It continued to worsen in spite of treatment.

Oklahoma City is done, at least for this year.

because playing through pain makes it worse. instead of it being an injury where he can still recover from, it'll turn into a career-ending injury.

only idiots harp on about "playing through pain" and put that on a pedestal like it's a virtue.

btw, these same guys wouldn't even be able to do what they preach (playing through pain)

Has a potential, legit contender ever been this snakebitten by injuries over the course of an entire season? Hell, even if you include non-contenders and every team in every season in NBA history, the 2014-2015 Thunder have to be right up there with the most legitimately injury-riddled, snakebitten teams ever. I'm not counting the tanking teams that just start saying everyone is injured at various points one month into the season.

When is KD coming back? If he's still out for a couple more games i don't think it's possible for OKC to make it. Damn, it's almost like a whole lost season for KD, just 27 games so far :facepalm

Matt Pinto is the radio voice for the Oklahoma City Thunder and before Monday's game against Dallas he said that Durant was likely out another week or possibly two weeks. Take that for whatever it is worth.

I took it to mean that as Durant began ramping up his workouts to return that some of the pain also returned to his foot, so they have slowed down his come back. I thought he would have been back two weeks ago.

I believe it is time for OKC to shut him down for the rest of the season. They would've had a chance to beat Golden State in the first round if they were fully healthy and had time to hit peak form, not to mention learn his new teammates, but there's no way they can beat Golden State with this rash of injuries with KD only having a couple weeks to prepare for the playoffs, that is if he's even healthy, and Ibaka now out until at least the start of the playoffs.

It is time to pull the plug on the season and call it what it is, which is a lost season.
